    Upstairs condos very hot

First the good things. This is the quietest, most peaceful place we’ve ever stayed. No road noise, no loud music. Grounds are well kept. I’ve never seen a more pristine pool- never even saw a leaf or bug in it. Staff is friendly and helpful. But no place is perfect. We stayed in unit 205, which is upstairs, as part of a VI exchange. It was a spacious 2 bedroom with high ceilings. We never use a/c when on vacation in Hawaii. Fans are always enough. Not this place. The building is poorly designed for the heat. It was always 10-15 degrees hotter inside than outside. The ceiling fans don’t help at all. I don’t know why. The 2 little R2D2 air conditioners couldn’t keep up, besides, the fan in the one in the main room stopped working if you turned it off. Maintenance fixed it for us twice. By then it was our last day so we just left it on. But it made little difference. We kept doors and drapes closed against the sun, in spite of the claustrophobic feeling. It was hard to sleep at night due to the heat but cool and lovely in the mornings, which was when we could use the lanai. I’m guessing downstairs units are better. The hot tub was also broken but we were so hot already this was not an issue. We made good use of the unheated pool to cool down before bed.

    Paradise

Ke Nani Kai is on the west side of the island. Isolated and very quiet. Timeshare units are all the same and very well appointed. The pool is the best along with the hot tub. Tennis courts and Pickleball are available. The beaches are the best in Molokai. You need a car (use Turo) to get around the island. There is a small store within a few hundred yards. Have coffee on your Lanai, feed the peacocks and chickens. Truly relaxing stay. I have been going for two weeks every year

    Molokai - Unspoiled paradise

There are 7 timeshare units at this resort of which we have a two week timeshare. We spend approximately 3 months each year at the resort on Molokai and have been doing so since 2007. If you are looking for a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere, then this is the place for you. They have an excellent pool and hot tub as well as a tennis court and a pickle ball league. There are numerous hiking trails as well. A car is necessary as the main town is about 20 miles away for your grocery and other supplies. The units are very clean and very well equipped. Units range from 1 and 2 bedroom that could accommodate up to 6 persons.

Great place to stay in Molokai

This is an amazing resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo which had a large room with en-suite and king bed, and another room with a double or queen bed (sorry, memory fading). It has another bathroom with shower as well. A well stocked kitchen is included and was amazing, but didn’t have much storage for food items. But it has a large fridge, microwave, oven and dish washer. We stayed a week at the resort and ate the majority of our meals here. You need to buy food in Kaunakakai before heading to the resort as the stores usually close around 6pm. Be prepared for the shock of how much food costs. The resort is situated on the western part of the island and is very quiet other than the roosters that like to crow at 5:30am. It’s a short 10 min walk to the beach and two other beaches are close by. In December the surf was rough so we didn’t swim here, opting for the south shores which were much calmer. The pool is great, but very cool (felt cooler than the water in December) but has a hot tub as well which is nice. There is no air conditioning but fans are provided in the unit and breezes are usually nice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great base for the west coast

We spent 3 nights in a 2-bedroom condo at Ke Nani Kai and loved it. You actually feel fairly remote, as the resort is quite dead as a result of the failed development there. Many of the buildings around the resort have been condemned, others are long vacant, and the golf course has reverted back to nature. However, this just added to its attractiveness for us – lots of great photo opportunities! It’s about a 30min drive from the main town and there’s not much in between. Thankfully there is a small, well-stocked shop on site for most of your basics, but no restaurants. There are plenty of interesting and pretty much totally deserted beaches within easy walking distance. Our condo was nice and comfortable with plenty of light and a large balcony. There was no AC, but plenty of fans and nice air flow through the unit when the breeze blows (which is most of the time). There was a big TV with a 1000 channels as well as streaming services, and the Wifi internet was strong and dependable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy and well-outfitted. We also loved having a washer/dryer combo. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you might need, plus more! We made up quite a few dinners here and found it had everything we required. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. Can’t really cite any negative experiences. Highly recommended to all travelers looking for a great base for their Molokai exploration.
