Fairly disappointed overall. Housekeeping has a problem. They didn't even show up on day 2. One of my peers didn't have any towels in her room when she got there. Meeting room, location and food were fine. If I go back to NOLA I'll stay elsewhere.

BLACK MOLD
My daughter and I stayed here for a cheer competition in mid January. Upon check in, I noticed the carpet was damp and crunchy and the room had a stale odor. The room was quite cramped and small, which left little room for suitcases--one space was in front of the drapes. So it wasn't until the last night that I noticed standing water on top of the windows sills. When I pulled back the drapes I was horrified to see not only standing water, but also active dripping water all over the walls surrounding the windows with black mold everywhere. I was absolutely horrified and immediately informed the front desk. Abby said security had to write up an official report so the security came; took photos with an iPod (yes an iPod); and said Marriott Claims would contact me within 72 hours. There was ZERO urgency, apologies, or offers to somehow make this right. None. Not only was my room affected, but both of my friends who had rooms on either side of me had the same mold growing. It has been 2 weeks since this stay and I have received ZERO contact from the General Manager Frank or Javier despite leaving many, many messages requesting a call back. I finally contacted Marriott Corporate who took down my concerns and promised follow up and not shockingly there was none. I am appalled as a nurse that a hotel would put guests in a room with ACTIVE BLACK MOLD given the high risks to individuals who come in contact with this pathogen. It is a health risk and can be detrimental. I find it even more appalling that there has beenNO contact from Marriott's managers or security team to rectify this situation. The amount of endless hours of calls and emails my friends and I have made should not go unanswered. Do not stay here--especially in Rooms 811, 815, 809 unless you are ok with being exposed to black mold.

Good location!
From Carly at the desk, to excellent rooms, our visit was a good experience. Compared to the other 4 hotels we have used on this trip, this is the only one offering a discount ($25) off food, and other benefits on tours. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Positioned just at the end of Bourbon St, it was close to most of the attractions.

Great Option Near the French Quarter
I got to stay here for about a month. Staff could have been friendlier, but I was very impressed by Nick at the entrance. So welcoming and professional. Stuart - one of the bellmen - was amazing as well. Such a nice and sincere man! On the not so good note, I think that housekeeping staff could not knock on the guestroom doors if the Privacy sign is present. This is my only criticism. I stayed here a few years ago, but still wanted to post this review. Hopefully Nick and Stuart are still working here.
