Apr 03, 2025My favorite past vacation was at an Occidental hotel
1. No beach 2. Food isn't good - tasteless and tough meat 3. No beach volleyball Read the hotel description, and it should be updated 4. Loud location Wow loud ro traffic For the price, this isn't worth it I am very disappointed in the Occidental brand which I have experienced before. Sad as I wish I chose other locations for our birthday celebration

Fine, once settled
First time with an all inclusive. Check in was a very frustrating experience with contradictory information. Once settled, location met my expectations for food, pool, and beach. Do not accept offer to visit the other hotel location. This also involved contradictory information and was an hour and a half sales pitch. They do not provide the pass to return to your hotel until the end do you are stuck there, even if you ask to leave. The sales rep stays with you for the entire visit (including your meal) and asks invasive questions about your salary and personal budget limitations. Highly recommend booking excursions on your own (concierge was not helpful) as there are many options with detailed online reviews.

Mar 31, 2025A Wonderful, Intimate Stay
We recently spent 10 days at Cancun on an Occidental Costa Cancun all-inclusive package. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, with excellent food, drinks, and service. Activities & Entertainment: The resort offered tons of fun activities and nightly shows, keeping the energy lively and entertaining. The entertainment team — they were incredible, bringing so much fun and enthusiasm to the experience Not Good: Pool & Beach Seating: This was a significant downside. Pool and beach chairs were often "reserved" with towels early in the morning and left unoccupied for hours. Finding available seating — especially with shade — was tough, which isn’t ideal for families with little ones who need a break from the sun.

I must say I fully enjoyed my 5 night stay at this resort. This is probably my 6th time visiting Mexico for vacation/spring break and I think this resort was my favorite of all. If you are looking for opulent luxury in a large, expansive resort, this is not it. The resort has one, centrally located pool with restaurants and entertainment all around it. The beach is just steps away. I'd say that for me, the following four attributes made this resort stand out: 1) The proximity to everything you need without spending countless steps to reach your room, restaurant or the beach 2) Service was exceptional; Every single employee of the resort was very attentive, friendly, welcoming and really hard-working. 3) Cleanliness. The resort is not new, but every section of it was well maintained and really clean, including fantastic and quiet AC. 4) The Bars: great selection of drinks with quick and friendly service. Remember that this resort is in Cancun, so you cannot compare it to those along Riviera Maya as it does not have the same space or beach as those, but it was everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Great value for your money and a fantastic way to "recharge your batteries" in a tropical paradise. Keep up the good work Occidental Costa Cancun!

Amazing Trip, Awesome Hotel!!
We had an amazing trip! Excellent service - the staff is efficient, courteous and helpful. The hotel has so much character, we love the authentic style building. It’s clean and comfortable. The buffet provided amazing service, interesting selection of food where you can usually find something that you want. High quality, never felt sick. A La Carte restaurants had great food too, but you have to book 2 days in advance and do it asap or it will all be gone. We’d highly recommend this hotel!
