Occidental Papagayo Spa
Deborah and Selvea are professionals at Occidental Papagayo Spa. Met with friendly smiles and a comforting environment. My massage, facial, and pedicure were absolutely rejuvenating. It is a truly amazing experience that allows you to simply relax. It's something I believe everyone is owed to themselves... So stop by and treat yourself to something special.

Please read, please save yourself from this resort
Worst stay yet, first day, not greeted. Mini bar, empty. Paid for premium, called front desk and nothing happened. Second day no water and ask for more water and was told we only get two water bottles a day. Served raw chicken, no one cared. Third day ac stopped working, called front desk even looked up the code and wrote it in Spanish. Nothing. Please read the 1 and 2 star review from a few weeks ago to a few months ago. They all mentioned the same thing the general manager responds to all but in a vague blanket statement obviously not fixing any of the issues. Hospitality is a global standard not a location or general managers standard. Do not stay here

Needs a major service and hospitality overhaul
As a loyal Barcelo unique member, with many stays over the last 10 plus years, though this property is absolutely stunning in its location and setting, the food and the overall attention to detail is by far the poorest I've seen, and it's definitely not a five-star by any stretch. Sadly, because of where it is located I'm sure it is difficult to attract a really good team of satisfied and appreciated workers which would go a long way. The food choices in comparison to every other property I've stayed at owned by this group are two star at best. The potential at this resort is massive, but even the guests in general were all grumbling during my 12 day stay...

Birthday Getaway
There was not enough staff helping at the front desk in the lobby areas. Once we met and engaged with other staff associates in the restaurant and pool areas, the staff was excellent. Room service wasn't always available but they did make sure that we had supplies when necessary. The activities were enjoyable. The crowd was very laid back and older in age so it wasn't as I expected. Their pool volleyball is the most excitement. There is a daily activite schedule posted and on their website for your convenience. The view is amazing. Their selection of food is 50/50 depending on your choice of style. It's best to do an all inclusive because the menu is all day with drinks included, until dinner and room service is at your own cost. They also have vans that take you back and forth from your room to designated area on the resort. It was my birthday and I enjoyed going on an excursion and seeing other parts of Costo Rica. My best experience was the waterfall.
