Apr 04, 2025Stay away, not a 4 Star resort more like a 1 Star.
Horrible vacation!! The rooms looked clean but there was black mold on the mattress and the bed skirt was really dirty. The first day we were there we went to the pool bar and only one person working and that was the only bar opened during the day. The snack bar was beyond disgusting, who serves cut up hotdogs swimming in ketchup and sandwiches melting in the heat, cold French fries that were hard. They would have corn tortillas and next to it some sort of meat sauce, where is the cheese, salsa or guacamole? The only two good things was the fruit, it was amazing and the chicken wings were delicious and so sad that they only served the wings once a week. The food at the buffet was pretty much the same for the 2 weeks we were there and all I can say is I had better food when we were in Cuba. The service at the buffet was horrible due to the lack of servers working. Had to get your own coffee for breakfast and sometimes at dinner you may get wine or may not. The drinks seem to give several of us heartburn, lowest and cheapest alcohol was served and if you asked for Bacardi Rum or Malibu it would cost you $5.00. The Lobby bar was the only bar opened in the evening with only one person working same as pool bar. The people worked so hard but could not keep up. At the bar beside the pool. if you were wet they would not serve you drinks. I have never heard of something so ridiculous! We brought our own insulated mugs and they would not use them. They would make our drinks in paper or plastic glasses and then we would have to transfer the drinks into our own mugs. They would actually measure the amount of alcohol they would serve you which could vary, sometimes you got half an ounce and other times 1 full ounce whoooo hoooo is you were lucky. We would ask for more alcohol and was told they could not give you anymore. The beach was beautiful and loved watching the surfers. No one served you any drinks on the beach you had to go to the bar by the pool. This is the first review I have ever written regarding a resort and normally do not like to be negative but this resort is certainly NOT 4 STARS!!! We went to this resort over 20 years ago and it was fabulous. If you don't mind having to get everything your self instead of enjoying your vacation and being treated like a guest then this resort is for you.

Very happy with our stay here. Staff were all very friendly, food was great! Close walk to town where there is lots of shopping and restaurants. Great surfing area! Beach is not great for swimming, but the pool was nice.

Surfers Paradise
Costa Rica in late March had good weather. Tamarindo is the perfect area for surfers and to relax on the beach or the pool. There were many tours offered by the hotel, but we chose to catch a taxi into town and have lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the public beach.

Room was good, air conditioning worked great and the bed was comfortable. We were in building 4 so the night show did not disturb us. Food was good. Would have liked access to snack food earlier and later. Beach was clean, but couldn't swim in the ocean (red flag). Playa Langosta is a beautiful beach, not busy and nice for walking.

50th Wedding Anniversary
First time to Costa Rica. Enjoyed the comfort and relaxing atmosphere of this resort. We enjoyed the surrounding community both day and night. At the resort ever team member performed their responsibilites with professionalism. We look forward to another trip
