From the moment we arrived at Ocean El Faro the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very spacious. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the maid service was amazing . We really enjoyed being on the beach which was, regardless of other negative reviews, sandy, clean, and cleared of seaweed (of which there was little). Next to the resort is a small sandy beach with a lagoon ideal for a dip as the waves can be strong on the main beach. Food at the buffet restaurant was ideal for us - plenty of choice - and the bread (in particular the focaccia) was baked on site and delicious. The only disappointment for us was our treatment at the Italian restaurant where we were rushed. Service was abysmal and food undercooked. I can’t end this review without a huge shout out to Erika in the Lounge Bar - such a lovely lady always knowing when we need a refill!! along with Hector and Luis. Also to Nerieda in the buffet restaurant who greeted us with a lovely smile and excellent service. Fabulous holiday, wonderful staff and beautiful location.

Good resort
Marielys, gerson, Stéphany, wilton, marcos, Joël, they are so good staff the best staff are their!!! The shows so good the activité so good too in the morning The bar is good too ricardo, Alberto, crisel they are good The food in the stake house was so cold last night

Awesome resort!
Stayed at the Ocean El Baso (Adults Only side)for nine days in Feb. 2025, we could’ve easily stayed for two full weeks no problem. There is a separate reception building for the adult side but as we arrived late, we just checked in at the regular lobby. For any issues you can always go to the El Beso reception as it’s usually not too busy over there. We were three couples and we all had an awesome vacation. The lobby is the most beautiful lobby we’ve ever seen in all our travels. The staff are all great, take time to chat with them and you’ll have great service. This resort is huge which calls for a lot of walking. I think it’s great to get lots of walking in, since there is a lot of lazing around when you’re on vacation. There is a trolly going back-and-forth from the lobby to the beach so you can always hop in and save yourself a lot of steps. Resort is well designed with all the restaurants in the same area and the food was great. There were only three restaurants that you needed to book and we did it online early in the morning for that evening and it worked. The other restaurants were just walk ins. Japanese and Bluemoon were our 2 favourites. There are no other resorts right next to this one therefore there are not many vendors on the beach trying to sell you products. You will not see kayaks or water activities in front of this beach, which makes it kind of nice and more quiet and relaxing . The beach is not the best beach, there are waves and rocks, but there’s a nice part of the beach on the left, which is very flat water to go swimming in. Beautiful sandy beach over there. Lots of swimming pools and our favourite was the awesome lazy river which we went in everyday. We were told the mojitos at that bar were good so we tried and they were yummy. Rooms were spacious and clean. We would definitely return to this resort without a doubt. Loved it!

There was mold in the corners of the sink. There should be more tubes for the lazy river. The drinks were really good and the food was delicious! The beds were quite comfy and I loved the view from the balcony. The air conditioning was very helpful keeping us cool.

Pampered with Privilege Services
We arrived at the El Beso (Adult only side) of the El Faro resort. We quickly recognized the value added by upgrading with Privilege services. We were assigned an amazing butler named Joel whose resources included insuring that our desired restaurant reservations were booked, that our mini bar was topped up daily, any extra requests were quickly met, and who checked in daily that we were having an amazing vacation. It was definitely the definition of pampered. We also want to give a shout out to an amazing young man named Berwin, who treated us royally at the privilege area at the El Beso beach front. He helped us to settle in to a shaded bed most afternoons and came around with offers of drink refills even before we thought to ask. Overall the resort was amazing. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants, our favorite being the privilege Lounge in the beachfront, the pools, and the lazy River. An added bonus to the resort is the Vilas tennis academy. The pros and training provided by Angel, Matthias and Nacho and Cynthia were second to none. Great vacation, great resort.
