Not a warm vibe but right on the beach

Outrigger Waikiki is directly on the beach, making it easy to access the ocean and sun. The staff was friendly, but I didn’t really feel the Aloha spirit—it felt more corporate than welcoming. The beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent, which felt like an extra cost I wasn't expecting. There are two on-site restaurants, both convenient but overpriced for what they offered. The buffet didn’t have the best selection, and it didn’t feel like the authentic Hawaiian experience I had hoped for. The property is located on the crowded end of the beach, between the Royal Hawaiian and the Moana Surfrider, so it can get busy. The pool was small, and there was only one, which added to the crowded feeling. If you're looking for lots of shopping, this is a great location, as it’s right across the street from the International Marketplace and all the shops. However, if you’re seeking a relaxing stay with true Aloha spirit, you might want to try something on the other end of the beach. We had booked a full ocean view but discovered at check-in that it wasn’t a "front ocean view" as we expected, and we still had to look to the side to see the ocean, which was disappointing. The rooms were just okay, and we deliberately didn't book a partial ocean view, so this miscommunication was frustrating. My girls did enjoy the lei-making class, which was a fun activity. Overall, the location is great for those who want to be in the middle of the action, but the vibe didn’t feel as warm or relaxing as I expected.

    This is my vacation home!!!

The Outrigger Waikiki Resort Hotel is my 'second' home. No maintenance and lots of friendly people giving great service. After a couple visits I joined the OUTRIGGER Platinum Club which is handled by Ricky Kuga at the hotel. Such good value. I had family with me and 4 of us could go to the Platinum members lounge at breakfast and early evening for food and drinks and gorgeous view of the water. Definitely good value with room upgrade and early check in. It made things much easier for me to book from afar and know all was going to be well on our arrival. And the people who chose this hotel also are so varied from all over and the hotel has such a chill vibe, people are enjoyable to grab a quick chat.

    Incredible Experience!

We stayed at the OWBR for five nights and we felt like royalty. The resort is located on the middle of Waikiki Beach, and there are many shops across the street to shop for gifts, essentials or a special gift for oneself. The staff and accommodations were exceptional! Every resort should have staff as amazing as Victoria and Gigi - they were extremely warm, friendly, and so helpful! The resort itself had so much to offer, from the two very nice restaurants, to the coffee and gift shops. The beach was as quiet as one could want for a nice quiet vacation. But across the street, we experienced a bustling Honolulu, with tourists and locals mixing, making for a fun people watching experience. Kudos to the management and staff for making this resort the standout on Waikiki Beach!

    Highly recommend

Our 4th stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and it never disappoints. The staff is always helpful. We stayed at the beginning and end of travel abroad. Our rooms were kept immaculate by housekeeping. Recommend the lower floors as they look out at the tall palms which are gently lit at night. However lower floors will get more of the nightly music from Dukes. Ryan and the rest of the Beach crew will go above and beyond to set up your umbrella and chair just so. Honolulu Coffee is right next door. Healthy food, beautiful ocean, historic Diamond Head, balmy weather, what more could you ask for. Highly recommend.
