    Perfect for the Price

Coming to the resort, nothing surprised us. We made sure to read up on the reviews before booking. Here’s a few things: Background Info: We are a college couple and we picked this resort because it was affordable for us. We were here for a total of 5 days. What we loved: •The resort itself was beautiful with all the walkways and plants. •This resort has one of the BEST beaches. They clean the seaweed, which not all resorts do. It also isn’t overcrowded which is really nice. •Staff was nice - You are in the Dominican Republic. Don’t expect everyone to speak English. If you are traveling to another country be considerate that English is not their first language. They will be patient with you and figure out your needs. Don’t be rude. •Breakfast is really good. •Restaurants are delicious! •Our room was HUGE for the price we paid. It was awesome. Needs Improvement: •We felt like the buffet lunch and dinner (not at the restaurants) needed help. •Our room had a half drank coke in the fridge when we arrived. •We felt like some of the areas were a little outdated, but not too bad. •Events need to be updated on the app more frequently. What we did not like: •Gift shop ridiculously overpriced. $15 for ONE bag of chips? $10 for ONE magnet? Overall, we knew all of the potential flaws going into it but we were willing to make the sacrifice for the cost and it was worth it. We just had such a great time and the truth is you aren’t gonna be in the room that much anyway!

    Amazing experience at La Paisana!

Jose, our waiter, was excellent! The food especially the steak was great. The atmosphere was excellent, the service was great, and the restaurant itself was a great facility. Very clean. The food came very fast, almost no wait. Would definitely come again. We have been palladium presidential members for 12 years and we love it and this restaurant is a great part of the resort.

    Buffet la catedral

Excellent service and food, the only thing that lack off was serving utensils in the buffet. Great selection and atmosphere. Juan, our server was great. The buffet selection was great, just wish for better service equipment, and no attendance on the salad, desert and cheese buffet that’s why I think there weren’t utensils.

    Horrible experience so far

i am currently on my first night here, ever since check in they have walked us to our villa no cart, staff cant speak english and thats only the beginning. Once we get to our room, smell of mold is so bad i have an asthma episode, my kids started coughing and sneezing. There is no water we have been calling them all day nothing!!!now we are spending the night with no water to take our meds, kids are thirsty . we call reception and no answer. We walked 2 times after a very long day to reception and they said that they dont have bottled water. its 11 pm and we are still waiting for water. Safe doesnt work, no tissues in the room and the room reeks! honestly we dont know how we will survive the 7 days! i am still here on my first night!! lets see how this goes i will keep updating and posting about my experience.

    Mixed bag

This place is a mixed bag. We loved the old-school expansive layout of the place where the rooms are located in spaced out villas (and not in a singular high rise). Lush landscaping makes for a delightful walk. The walkways are covered and it makes it easier to walk back and forth to lobby during rain. Lobbies (Palace and Punta Cana included) are decent. Night shows are above average. The beach is exceptional. This is where the good stuff ends…. Room are disgusting (at least in the Bavaro part)- electrical sockets are falling apart, uncomfortable beds, dodgy a/c, rickety furniture and dull lighting. Lots of humidity in rooms will make ur clothes smell. Shower stall was literally buckling. We lost power within 30 min of getting in the room followed by a/c issues. You will need to tap ur room card 4-5 times before the door unlocks. This is a huge property with only 3 medium sized pools (not counting TRS). Pools themselves are shabby, debris in water and there and there are big chunks of tiles missing. Palace/Punta Cana pools were marginally better then Bavaro. Food is below par- Buffet needs some serious rescue. La carte were better (La Lola was our fav). Beware that the resort will be slammed on weekends with locals checking in. We are hoping that Bavaro property will be more upscale and better managed after the 2025 renos. For those who have already booked, keep your expectations low.
