  Japanese ala carte

  Sumptuous restaurant at palladium Mayan resort. Even with reservations, waited almost 45 minutes. Once seated dinner was excellent Hostess very polite and apologetic waiter very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. Large portion and food served hot Dessert was very good. Our server Jesus did a great job

  Nice hotel just a shame about the food!!!!

  You definitely can not fault the rooms and the up keep of the gardens, pool areas and beach. But the food in the buffet restaurants was definitely questionable at times!!! I'm really not a fussy eater and even sometimes I struggled to find something that looked worth eating!!! We even got served raw salmon straight from the flame grill!!! One evening in the buffet restaurant, we had been waiting that long for a waiter to come and take our drink order, my husband went to the bar himself and the guy responded with "This isnt a la disco tech" and to sit back down!!! When the waiter eventually came over I asked for a Vodka and coke and his response was that we do not do vodka!!!! We did manage to get into the Japanese and steak restaurant which were actually quite good. We also thought that the drinks in the day around the pool and beach were very weak/watered down.

  Fun for all the family

  We are a family who came together from Scotland, Canada and Spain to holiday at The Grand Palladium. We all had a fabulous time from our 4 year old grandaughter through to the oldest members of the family, from play at the pool to a night cap in the bar with so much in-between excellent dining experiences with so much choice. The wildlife literally on our doorstep was a very pleasant surprise, our three granddaughters enjoyed the kids club, the girls working there do an exceptional job.

  Average Stay with Some Highlights – Best for Families, Not Couples

  My husband and I stayed at Grand Palladium Kantenah in late February 2025, and unfortunately, our experience was average at best. While the staff was friendly, they were incredibly unhelpful when we repeatedly requested (four times!) to have our cracked TV fixed. This was especially frustrating since it rained 75% of the time, and having a working TV would have made our indoor time more enjoyable. The food at the buffets was another letdown—bland across the board, though the fresh fruit was a plus. On the bright side, the pool area was nice, and the resort grounds were well-kept. However, our biggest disappointment was booking a king bed and being given two full-size beds instead, with no effort made to accommodate the room we reserved. The one redeeming factor was that our room was cleaned and refreshed daily. That said, there were a couple of standout experiences. The spa and hydrotherapy were fantastic—truly the highlight of our trip! If I could do it again, I’d book the spa earlier in the day and spend hours enjoying the serene pool and relaxation areas. The Chic Cabaret was another major win—the performers were energetic, the show was engaging, and the food was excellent. Highly recommend! Overall, I’d say this resort is best suited for families with young children. If you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway, I’d suggest staying in the Colonial or TRS sections instead. You get what you pay for, and while there were some enjoyable moments, I wouldn’t return to Kantenah. Would I recommend it? Only for families—couples, look elsewhere!

  It’s a beautiful resort, close to the beach, very calm, pools are great, but poor room cleaning service, not enough towels, short staffs, not fun entertainment.
