  My favorite in Panama City

  Panama is my self discover city to enjoy the life. And this hotel is my favorite option to rest. The classic room is good. The breakfast tastes always good and smells all the floor. Service was kind and fast, however in this time , I had to wit 45 minutes for my room. However I went to the mall next to the hotel

  Overall excellent experience

  The hotel experience at Albrook Mall was excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Even to the cleaning staff!! Julio (travel) and Diana (concierge desk) went way and beyond their duties to assist my wife and I. Employees such as them is what makes a business successful. Thank you Marriott for allowing us to have a home away from home ny hiring great people. Michael

  Excellent rooms

  When we were there this hotel really surpassed my highest expectations to every single degree and that is saying a lot of the hotel. The breakfast was an all you can eat of a buffett. The eggs to prepared to your liking. The fruit was fresh. There was even bread and butter or for the kids there was bread and peanut butter. If you had the breakfast included, then it was free and the only thing you need to do was to charge the tip to the hotel room.

  A unique family run hotel with class .

  What is so unique about this hotel is its staff . Yes, its staff , in one hand the Marriott it is a large international Hotel with good standing . Yet, It has the feeling of a small family run boutique hotel . I have always felt happy entering this hotel , and the staff genuinely treated you with respect . I get to know some of the staff professionally and they kept me informed about the going and coming in town . Even when I could go to other comparable hotels around , much cheaper or free by using points , I kept going there regardless . I liked it better though , twenty years ago or so when it was smaller . Also , as I am not a gambler , I never fell in love with their Casino . I very much hope that one day , It mat be resurrected . But with COVID in full swing and the demand for rooms is much lower , it is hope against hope. MANY THANKS FOR ALL STAFF AND MANAGEMENT .

  We have sad news to report

  It is with a heavy heart that we write this review... Panama Marriott Hotel in Panama City, Panama is now permanently closed. This is something we have expected to hear for many months. The Coronadoom pandemic closed the hotel and is ultimately responsible for its death. It will not be cost effective to attempt to reopen this aging landmark. Panama Marriott was more than a hotel for us. It was our "home away from home" or our "city home". The outstanding members of the Marriott Hotel staff were not employees... they were "family" to us. Each and every stay, we were greeted by name, not just a generic warm welcome to the hotel. Everyone always inquired as to what we had been doing, where we had been, how we were feeling, and what was happening in our lives. Yes, they were family. We loved the ageless beauty of this hotel. On many of our visits we were upgraded to a full suite. Yes, we were pampered and spoiled by the excellent service provided at this location. Countless events and conferences have been held here too. Yes, we too have attended numerous events over the years. The quality and quantity of food was unbelievable. We never had a dish that was just "good". Everything was delicious, excellently prepared, and served with grace and happiness. Our personal hopes were that the Marriott chain would renovate and reopen this great hotel. Sadly, that will not happen as the hotel giant has disposed of the property. What will happen to it? We don't know as of now. Time will tell. The new owners will probably give it a facelift and reopen. Doubt that it will be anything like the former gracious grand lady she was...
