    Family Trip

We really enjoyed our trip here! The accommodations were beautiful having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The in room safe was easy to use and a large size. You could easily fit a laptop or iPads in there no problem. My only complaint was the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The grounds are beautifully kept and they work hard everyday to keep them that way. There is a lot to do on site and there is a mall just outside the resort gates should you need anything. My kids loved the pool and waterslides and the playground on the beach was a nice addition. I found there was always chairs at the pool to use. The beach and cabanas were very nice but plan to be there early or they are all taken. They offer free boogie boards to use which we had so much fun with. They have a few nightly shows at the amphitheater which were great but would’ve loved to have them daily. The coffee bar was amazing with a great selection of coffee drinks to order. A couple things to note. If you go all inclusive kids club and the ice cream station is not included and you will have to pay for those. I’m not sure I liked all the pushing on time share and to attend a breakfast to get excursions for a better price. As a young family that doesn’t interest us at this time of our lives and just found they pushed it a bit too much. Overall we really enjoyed our trip to this beautiful resort.

CONS Alcohol cut off at 10:30 pm across the whole resort. One bar to get drinks for the entire resort from 6pm-10:30 pm. It was totally ridiculous and since we booked this through west jet they should have mentioned this. They literally turn off the lights at midnight and kick you out of Lobby at 12 am -there is NO WHERE else to hang out. Only One buffet Only 3 al la carts allowed over a ten day stay Kitchen closes at 10 pm, we have tried to order at 9:45 and they won’t allow it Al la carte restaurants take 2.5 hrs, very slow. I would say 80% of the guests are seniors, the population is quite old so not the best place for young kids and Teens. Very boring for teens, literally nothing for them to do. Majority of the guests are timeshare owners (we booked through west jet) so they don’t really care or cater to the needs of guests who aren’t time share owners. There is no place to get food after 10:30 pm (can’t even order room service after 10:30 pm) There is ZERO nightlife near by. Everything here shuts down for 10:30 so you have to go into PV so need to head there if you want any bars or nightlife. There was construction going on at the conference centre and the gym, it was super loud every morning despite them saying they had sounds proof glass patio doors The gym is not included with the all inclusive plan, it costs $20 per person per day. It’s not close to anything (except they have their own resort shopping centre with a grocery store/souvenir that is very overpriced PROS They have waiter service at the beach They have waiter service at the pool, shout out to Rodgerio, who had amazingly fast service. Instead of the usual repetitive lunch buffet they have menu service at the pool and beach which was so nice and the food was great. Hotel and property looks better in person than in photos There is only one buffet but food changes daily (sort of). The daily shows are good, but they are all only one hour long. This is the ONLY evening entertainment. All of the rooms are in proximity to the ocean and main building. So it doesn’t feel like too large of a resort. They offer tennis racquets, adults bikes, kayaks, boggie boards, and pickle ball racquets to use free of charge. They also have a free kayak tour every morning. They have a Mexican party theme night and a western night theme party, these were super fun, they put a ton of effort into the parties with lots of activities. They were great. The pool is over six feet deep in some places, an actual real pool you Can swim in. There is an actual hot tub (that is hot)

    The Staff is always wonderful!

We have been members at PV for about 6 years and have gotten to know some of the staff. They are so helpful and friendly and remember our names, which is impressive for the traffic they see! This year my husband & I decided they deserve recognition! 1. Sergio Rangel always upbeat, serves with lightening speed at the Pilapas on the beach in front of the Uxmal building bar. 2. Pedro Contreras Campos, another one of our longtime server friends, remembers our names & our daughters, helps find us a spot when the pools get busy! He is such a sweet man and always waves when he sees us! 3. Elda Zepeela Pena at the Concierge desk was extremely helpful a number of times and showed such genuine caring. (She also has great English skills!) 4. Iris in the Tekal bar was very sweet & accommodating throughout our stay and during the College Football finals game croud! 4.Grisel Osorio Alverez In the Tekal Coffee Shop waved hello and gave my husband a big smile when she saw him in the lounge area. She always remembers his coffee order from the last few years! She is such a sweetheart! 5. Martin Cueto, at the excersion stand on your way to the mall, is a great resource for tours and has suggested many wonderful trips to us. 6. And of course Gladis at the lobby desk next to Concierge, is super friendly and knowledgeable about where to eat! Well those are our favorite people at PV! They make the experience even more memorable... it's nice to be made to feel like family! Dave & Bernice Kaldy Cleveland Ohio
