Absolutely Beautiful!!!
Paradisus Cancun exceeded my expectations! I've travelled extensively to many AI resorts, and this was one of my favorites. After reading some poor reviews, I was slightly concerned, but there was nothing to worry about! I will preface this review by mentioning that we upgraded to the Reserve, Adult's Only section and I would highly recommend this. The resort itself is gorgeous with high ceilings, running water, greenery and relaxing smells wafting through the air. Upon arriving, we were ushered off to a private check-in where we were encouraged to begin enjoying a cocktail and charcuterie snacks in the atrium while waiting. What a feeling of indulgence after the flight and transfer! Check-in was quick and seamless, after which our personal concierge (Mario) booked our restaurant reservations, bali beds and sunset cruise (included for Reserve guests) for the week. Mario would also provide daily updates on WhatsApp to remind us what was scheduled. Our room was a Sunset view in building 5 - Reserve section. I know some reviews mentioned outdated and/or poor rooms, but ours was lovely. It was comfortable, well equipped and the shower had fantastic water pressure with hot water on demand! One note, when staying on the sunset side, some previous reviews complained about hearing bass thumping all through the night from a nightclub across the street. We could hear this if we happened to wake up and listened for it, but it did not cause us issues at all. In all honesty, the air conditioning in our room was louder. If you are somebody that needs total silence when you sleep, I'd recommend bringing earplugs. The next thing I will mention is the food, which was wonderful! We consider ourselves "foodies" and thought the presentation and taste was outstanding. Not every dish was our favorite, but that can happen anywhere, and I did my research before coming to ask others what their favorite appetizers, entree's and desserts were. Each restaurant was distinctive ,uniquely decorated, and very elegant. We belong to a dinner club, and often mentioned that what we were presented with was "dinner club worthy" Lol. We dined at Lemon Fish, Sante, Sal Steak Cave (also included for Reserve guests), Capella, Augamarina and Cielo. All were good, but Lemon Fish, Sante, Sal's and Cielo were my favorite in terms of food. Sante and Agamarina also got high marks for being outside with outstanding views. The menu is available via a QR code when you sit down, although you can get view full listing of menus on the Melia app to plan before hand. Most menu items are included, and the ones that are "extra charge" are clearly noted. I saw complaints about this as well, but virtually every resort offers upgrades for those that wish and the food/drink that was included was fabulous in my opinion. I will mention that we only ate in the main buffet once (dinner on the first night), and thought it was pretty average. Had we eaten there all week, this might be a different review. Each morning, we had breakfast and lunch in the reserve's atrium or Sante (the outdoor restaurant for reserve guests). The menus were varied and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious - extra bacon and mimosa's each morning - no problem! In fact, nothing seemed to be a problem at Paradisus. The staff in the reserve section was awesome, providing attentive restaurant and poolside service. Every expression of gratitude was met with "It's my pleasure". They were always smiling and gracious. I would like to highlight Louis and Lorena in the atrium, Cesar, Valeria and Fernardo at Sante and Victor and David, the pool concierges. Each one of them was delightful and made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. When staying in the reserve section, our concierge was able to reserve a poolside bali bed twice during the week. For the other days, you can put your name on a waiting list the day before you'd like it. We were lucky and were given beds for the entire week. Not only did Victor and David try to get us beds side by side with the other couple we traveled with, but they'd set us up each day and make sure we were comfortable. No sooner would you lay down, when one of the Sante servers mentioned above would come to see if they could bring a drink. The staff was really amazing. There was varied evening entertainment, but it seemed mostly geared to families, and my one recommendation would be to have a lounge with bands or singers that focuses on more laid back, adult entertainment. I've really enjoyed this at other resorts and it was the one thing I did miss a bit. There's nothing like a fabulous dinner followed by a nightcap with music. The beautiful pool was heated and and the ocean/sand was absolutely stunning. This leads me to my only drawback of the vacation which was the weather. It was cloudy/rainy and very windy for most days we were there, which prevented us from enjoying the beach as much as I would have liked. Although this was disappointing, it certainly wasn't the resort's fault, and the staff really tried their best to make up for it by asking if their was anything they could bring to make us more comfortable. Food and drinks galore!! I realize that had we not stayed in the Reserve section, we might have a different view of the rooms and resort itself. I understand that Paradisus Cancun will be closing for a year in June to complete renovations and upgrades. However, when they open again, I'd really love to go back!

Wonderful resort!
This is a Wonderful resort especially for people with mobility issues! I felt like the Queen Bee because all I had to do was call the front desk and a wheelchair and attendant took me anywhere on the property. Also room service was quick and delicious!

amazing!!
The hotel was so accommodating and the staff was excellent. Veronica, Ivette, and Jenny were awesome. Our rooms were amazing, the food was great, and the beach was so clean, but the color of the water doesn't even look real. Couldn't have had a better time, recommend to all.
