Christmas in Punta Cana!
The hotel was so Beautiful. The staff were amazing Especially our Concierge Kelvin. He took care of us like Family! He made all our dinner reservations and even arranged round trip transportation for my son to go play golf . He would talk to us every day to see if we need anything! The Mexican and Italian restaurants were my favorite! The only thing I didn’t like was the buffet! Some of the items were cold. If you have American Express Reserve card you have some private areas to enjoy! You also have Concierge who will make your stay amazing ! As a Reserve card holder you will have beautiful beach area with very comfortable lounge chairs and views! I would Highly Recommend this resort!

A wonderful getaway!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Paradisus Palma Real! We travelled the second week of December, when the resort was quieter. We loved that it didn’t feel crowded! The resort The resort is absolutely beautiful, not too big, grounds and buildings are very well maintained and felt very clean. There are many pools to swim, many bars, and quite a few restaurants. We stayed in the Master Suite Deluxe in building 10 on the third floor closest to the beach. There is no elevator so we got our steps in! The room itself was very spacious, had 4 sinks, A comfy king bed, sofa bed and we got a rollaway bed too. Our bar fridge was always full with the drinks we like and there are treats too like chips, chocolates to snack on in the room. The food We really enjoyed the food! They had a large selection at the buffet, but by the end of the week we felt like it was getting a bit repetitive. Great fresh fruit, the BEST guacamole, various salads, omelettes, fish, meat and much more! Dinner restaurants Our favorite a la carte restaurants were the Italian and the Asian. Service was very slow at the Asian both times we went, but the sushi was great and so was the fish! We also tried the steakhouse which was pretty good, Caribbean, and teppanyaki, which put on an entertaining show! The staff Many staff members at the resort went above and beyond to offer help. A Special shoutout to Reynaldo, who always greeted us with a warm smile, brought us jam everyday for breakfast, and made sure we were always taken care of at the restaurants and buffet. Special shoutout to Luisa, Guest Service Manager who really went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Anything we needed was just a text message away! Thank you again Luisa! Special shoutout to Edito for making sure we were taken care of at the buffet! There are many staff members who don’t speak much English, but using Google Translate on our phones was very useful. The staff at the pool and outdoors bars were also very helpful and would gladly get us towels any time. Activities / nightlife We loved the foam party and paddle boarding in the main pool and enjoyed the nighttime rock show! We would have liked to see more evening entertainment and more activities during the daytime. Maybe a fun beach party and for sure more foam parties in the pool! The beach The beach is absolutely beautiful! It’s really one of the highlights of the resort. So many chairs and huts to choose from, and we never had an issue getting a chair when we headed to the beach in the morning. The beach is very clean and the workers use a tractor or a rake to clean up any seaweed pretty quickly. The sand is soft sand, and the ocean waves weren’t too rough! We REALLY loved walking up and down the beach. It’s a great way to stay in shape! Vendors There are some people coming up to you on the beach asking if you’d like to buy various items- hair braiding, cigars, excursions, clothing, etc. They aren’t pushy and just walk away if you say you’re not interested. Alcohol and drinks Alcohol was great! We loved the mudslides! The resort also provides ample bottled water. Overall, our vacation was very relaxing and we loved our stay! We hope to return again next year!

Family trip to Paradisus Palma Real
My family is part of Melia Circle, which included its own check-in lounge with snacks and a bar, as well as games and plenty of seating. We were a large group (20 people), with one person managing our check-in, so it was a bit disorganized. Our concierge Ariel did a wonderful job in scheduling our dinner reservations, spa appts and excursions. Very helpful! The rooms were very nice and well appointed. We had two adjoining rooms on the second floor. No issues with noise, and housekeeping did a good job. Plenty of space at the pools and beach, with great service from the attendants that serviced those areas. Raul was the best poolside bartender we could’ve asked for! Please note that you will be approached on the beach more times than you can count by locals trying to sell goods, tours, photo ops, etc. Restaurants were decent, with our favorites being the steakhouse and Italian. My 5-YO son absolutely loved the kid’s club, and ditched me several times to go hang out there. Overall, a decent trip in a family-friendly resort!

Very nice but not perfect
We spent a week in a junior suite, ground level in the adult section of the resort. The room was magnificently maintained. Very clean and comfortable. While you normally don't go to the Dominican Republic to watch television, since there are many American football fans taking a winter vacation, it's nice to know that the major American networks are delivered on television. The quality of the television in the rooms is very good. The food was also very good but not great. The "lunch box," a buffet setup, offered many tasty choices. Some of the food could have been warmer in temperature. Several of the specialty restaurants, including the steakhouse, we're very good. An important note: To get reservations at the specialty restaurants requires an early visit to a registration desk just outside the buffet. It is a hit or miss process. Additionally it was somewhat difficult to find a listing of daily events. A QR code on a check-in sheet only offered outdoor activities not evening entertainment. In conclusion you might ask why did I give this only a very good instead of excellent review? Because there was a language barrier with many of the employees leading to a less than efficient experience. Yes, the employees were incredibly polite well-groomed, and positive of attitude. However it required the use of Google Translate to be able to communicate and ask technical or in-depth questions. Overall this is a great place. Nice beach, quality drinks, good food and lovely grounds.

Don’t Stay Here. There are better options.
We are here right now. This place looks great but the service is not so good. You cannot make dinner reservations until you arrive but then all restaurants are fully booked. There is no place to eat except the buffet which is horrible, hot and stuffy. We are considering ending our trip early. Waiting to hear from the resort manager.
