Fabulous family vacation venue
Beautiful resort, excellent staff, food was mostly great. As you would expect, the Mexican food was wonderful! Great all day buffet! We were limited to some restaurants because our grandchildren ranged from 11-16 and weren't allowed in the Adults Only restaurants. Disappointing. Fabulous time at the pools, more food available than you'll ever eat! Lovely and helpful staff! Great vacation place for large families!

Great place to bring the kids
Our family really enjoyed this resort. The food was really good. We really enjoyed the specials at the blue agave restaurant. The beach was beautiful. The staff was very helpful with problems we had with our room and mini fridge. There is lots of easy access to pools around the resort. The resort is also layed out very well if you want to stay in the shade in the middle of the day. Great trip!

4* kindergarten
We, a family of 4 with two teenagers, were really looking forward to our stay at Paradisus. First impression was good. Lobby area is nice and the ambience too. Check in was smooth. Resort is divided into an adult only part and a family part. However, I have never been to a place with more kids ever. Small kids. If you have small kids this is a great place. To us, having older kids, it really felt like we were in the middle of a kindergarten. Room was ok, nothing more. We paid $2000 a night, 2 queen beds, which honestly, is more like 2 single beds (new years, to be fair about the price). The queen beds are quite narrow. There was no hot water in the shower before (an early) dinner. Cocktails are of really poor quality. Worst Margaritas in Mexico this week. Same with the Cosmopolitan. Avoid! We had an all inclusive package. We were not able to reserve a table, and had to wait in line for half an hour. Lots of small kids all around. Pool area unfortunately gives a feeling of charter holiday. The beach is really nice though. Clean and exotic. Only tried the Italian for dinner. Food is quite ok, except the pizza. Waiters service minded and sweet. Because of the waiting time and only ok food we chose to have dinners outside of the hotel. Too pricey for what you get. I really wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anybody but families with small children. I love children, but it is just too much.

LOVED IT! If you don't have a fabulous time here, you won't have a good time anywhere
We visited Paradisus Playa del Carmen in November with a group of 13 friends and family (all adults). Everyone had a wonderful time! Every meal was excellent, with lots of great options. The resort and grounds were beautiful, thoughtfully designed and very clean. The staff was so friendly and always attentive. We especially loved spending time in the pool every day. Shoutout to Jocelyn Guerra for making the water aerobics & pool games so much fun that we're still talking about it!! The evening entertainment was really good too - way better than any other resort we've been to in Playa Del Carmen. Also the beach was really nice, much more space & sand compared to other resorts we've stayed at in the area. This resort made our trip so relaxing and fun. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Average and needs repairs
This is our second time returning to this hotel. Pluses: 1) very family friendly 2) easy for families with kids. Everything is convenient 3) service is good 4) good pools and beach Needs improvement: 1) hotel is starting to feel run down. Public bathrooms were leaking, private bathroom in room with constant sewage smell; torn and broken furniture. The hotel really needs to be maintained or closed and remodeled 2) food was poor. Buffet was poor quality and uneatable on most days. Restaurants are impossible to reserve, and from the ones we did get into- Mexican (Cielo) was very bad; Asian was fine as was Italian but not gourmet in any way I think unless the hotel undergoes significant changes to food and starts maintaining its rooms/grounds we won’t be back
