No benefit for VIP members, not enough lounge chairs at pools and beach Food quality is not the quality expected when you are paying the “Holiday Charge “

Great family resort
First time staying in this hotel and we were very impressed. All areas were clean, the room furniture was nice. Pools and all public areas were kept clean. Great resort to go with kids - the kids pool and regular pool are both great for them, there is kids club too (which we didn't use). The beach is nice and wide and not too busy. Waves are rough and you cannot swim in the ocean, but playing in the waves by the shore was great. The hotel is very popular with Mexican travellers, especially families. That's 95% of their clientele. We saw very few Americans & Canadians. The food selection in the restaurant reflects that. Food was good and fresh and not too repetitive, but very few vegetarian options (as you'd expect). The real highlight of course were the staff. The hotel is very well staffed in every department and it was easy to get service whenever you needed it. The restaurant staff stood out particularly: - Diana, the restaurant host, who always made us feel welcomed, remembered our preferences and even remembered and learned to spell my admitted hard to spell last name, was a real star. - Alix at the omelette station always great and courteous no matter how busy she gets (and boy does she get busy!). - Omar and Guilherme are two friendly and very efficient servers. Other severs were good too, unfortunately I can't remember any more names. The one area to improve I would suggest would be the gym. The equipment is very outdated and super limited. The free weights area is actually laughable. They have 1 (one!) dumbbell. No squat rack, no pull up bar, no bench press, the only adjustable bench is broken (there is one flat bench though). This is not complicated or high maintenance equipment and if the hotel could improve it, its value would be much higher. To sum up: a great resort and well visiting if you are travelling to Ixtapa, especially with family and/or kids. ¡Gracias por todo! Seguro que nos vemos pronto.

Christmas Trip
The area was beautiful, but the late night noise every night, no pool chairs ever available and the food was not the best-my husband got food poisoning while we were there. It's a shame because the resort was very nice.

Two Relaxed weeks at Park Royal Ixtapa
This trip was my fourth in several years as I love to go to Ixtapa and stay at Park Royal. I enjoy walking on the long beach and going to the nearby market and sit at The General for a drink. The visit this time was made particularly special as the vegan food on offer (especially made for my oil free requirement) was excellent. The chef made new dishes every day and my carnivore friends were envious of my plate.
