Not worth your money
If you have any disabilities with walking, etc. this is not the place for you. Food allergies is another issue (food was not great at all - especially dinner). Language was a big barrier as very little staff spoke English.

Beauty place but...
It's a beautiful spot and the room was great . The staff seemed engaged and friendly. We had issues with room service ( two days in a row without towels in our room) . I love good food but willing to enjoy what served .... however it just wasn't up to a standard of any resorts I've been to. Really don't like to leave a poor review but there it is .park Royal is a beauty spot with an awesome beach and water but needs some honing on the things that are important for most travelers

Too many cons than pros
On the pro side we had a beautiful room off the 7th level pool deck and the views were spectacular. On the con side our room had no hot water for our entire stay, we were left with zero towels (none) for more than a day, and our phone didn’t work so we couldn’t call reception. The buffet food was very average and a couple of people in our group ended up sick. The two ala carte restaurants were just okay. Anyone with mobility issues would have a difficult time here. Although there is a shuttle service there is still a lot of climbing to do and not all buildings have an elevator. The beach club area was small but the bay and the water was beautiful.

Terrible quality of everything included
The "All Inclusive" of this hotel is not worth it. The food they gave us was mostly reheated, dry, without variety, simple, some like bean and cheese toast, simple pasta like we make at home, no local food from Oaxaca, everything very simple without flavor, many desserts with a lot of sugar, poor quality drinks, all watered down in flavor, it is a shame having a very extensive gastronomy in this State of Oaxaca, Mexico, they offer such poor food, no beef jerky, chorizo, tlayudas, tamales, moles all very watery, etc. If you go to this hotel it is better to go WITHOUT everything included and go to the town to eat.

Not what we expected
Positives: The rooms are nice, large and clean, and the beds are comfortable. There are shops, restaurants, tour providers, stores and a sports bar located right down the street. The weather is amazing. Things you should consider: The hotel is NOT on the beach. You need to leave the resort, cross a busy street and then follow the road down to the beach club. We spoke with many people who fell walking up to the hotel on the crumbling sidewalk. The road and sidewalk used to get to the beach are not well maintained (these are off the resort). The property does not feel like an all inclusive resort; it feels like a hotel on a hill. The staff want everyone to take the shuttles, which are not convenient. We like to walk, which is doable once you find your way around, but most of the time you are walking on the road where the shuttles drive. The only common area is the beach club which is a long(ish) walk from the rooms. There isn't anything to do except go in the pool or ocean there (i.e., no pool tables, ping pong tables, basketball, activities, etc.). There is one buffet, which is also at the beach club. While we were there the food was not well covered and flies and such were able to land on the food. The evening entertainment is in the same room as the buffet tables. Very loud and busy. Overall, we did not enjoy our time at the Park Royal. My advice: If you want a hotel with a nice room, and plan to be off the resort on tours, eating out, seeing the sights, etc., this may be a good option. If you want a resort to hang out and relax at, you should consider a different option.
