Nov 21, 2024Do not recommend plant hollywood costa rica
Was there during the liberia airport closures week, the hotel was not very accommodating, They were extremely difficult with all the stranded passengers, they tried to jack up prices for the extra nights . They really did not want us to stay any longer and kept saying they were fully booked, however no planes were coming in or out so their statements were wrong, it all seemed like a money grab. They were much more concerned with people who speak fluent Spanish. However over and above that, the hotel roof was leaking everywhere, Most of the a la carte restaurants had extremely poor service and long wait times for average tasting food. The one exception was the steakhouse. Service was much better and food was reasonable. The buffet had better service. Food was very average. We have been to many all inclusive resorts and this was by far the worst based quality versus price paid. No entertainment in the lobby most nights. Rooms were nice and clean.

Quiet and comfortable place. A unique concept all around (in my experience) being part of the stardom. But what made the big difference for me was the people; almost all of them super friendly, educated and willing to go the extra mile to give a great experience. Special case: Lilia - Game of throne at the East Sushi restaurant, and Christian - The godfather. Again all of them great people.

Shoutout Carolina at the star bar and Jean Carlos on the shuttle services!!!
To start THE BAD-the staff isn’t very aware that they shouldn’t touch your stuff by the pool, our stuff was moved by staff on multiple occasions and even dropped into the water, not a big deal but not normal anywhere I’ve been. Secondly we had issues with the buffet unfortunately although staff was friendly and and the food was great and no real service issues it just so happened that it was 90 degrees and 95% humidity inside the building and the would not allow me to take my food to a cooler part of the hotel due to my baby literally drenched in sweat (not safe for a 6 month old to sit in) but the manager told me there was nothing he could do and I needed to speak with the main manager down at the lobby which was a major headache. These were the only issues and ultimately management agreed that he made the wrong call and should have make steps to correct this so hopefully both these issues get resolved for future guests. Now THE GOOD- the place was beautiful food, vibes, and drinks were great and our 6yr old had lots of fun as well as the rest of our 12 other guests with us. Specifically Carolina at the star class bar was the best mixologist I’ve ever dealt with she was fun to talk to and has a wonderful pallet for drinks and communicated perfectly she couldn’t have done a better job if she tried. Also on of the drivers of the shuttles that take you around the resort although I may have his name wrong I believe it was Jean Carlos did an exceptional job in comparison to the other shuttle drivers he was mindful of picking us up with room for the stroller as the others were not even when reminded and he was just a good time overall and fun to talk to and has a wonderful playlist playing in his cart most of the time (also he’s the only one that would wait when requested to wait if you are trying to just run in somewhere and come right back out. We enjoyed our trip overall and there’s always an issue somewhere so luckily these few things didn’t leave me feeling like anyone was trying to do the wrong thing on purpose.

Unique Vacation in Costa Rica, Amazing Tours!!
My stay at this resort was great! The staff is very friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms were spotless, very clean, and comfortable. Additionally, the hotel's location is perfect, as we were able to see many animals in the surrounding area, which was a unique experience. The pool was one of my favorite places-I spent most of my time there because it's absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We booked some excursion with nomadtourscr..."Gabriel helped me organize our tours and airport transfers. It was very easy to work with him, we did La leona waterfall hike, Buena vista adventure and a private boat tour for a day, it was simply amazing. I chose this hotel after reading several positive reviews, and it definitely exceeded all my expectations! I highly recommend Nomad and this beautiful place!

Excellent service
The hotel is clean , friendly the staff are so attentive and professional! Pool servers amazing, steak house staff amazing in general the whole team is great! Have been here before and service is always amazing! 🤩 would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! The only downside this week was the rain and more rain! But will hopefully be back!
