Star Class price for D-List quality
Our family has wanted to visit Costa Rica for years! We finally were ready to book and thought we had found the perfect vacation oasis for our family! We invested in the Star Class upgrade thinking that the level of service and attention to detail would be the perfect cherry on top for our vacation. As a family of 4 who travels each year for Christmas, we are experienced travelers and understand things go wrong and sometimes unexpected hiccups can occur. We are accustomed to rolling with the punches and enjoying ourselves anywhere we go. However, the high expectations Planet Hollywood's site set with their description of the "Star Class" upgrade were anything but met. The gap between the promised benefits and what was actually delivered was beyond disappointing, especially for the price tag. Here are the things that were never delivered or subpar: - Priority reservations at specialty restaurants Only after your first couple of days there, as "other Star Class members" who arrived before you have now filled all the slots, so be prepared to either do the buffet, room service or hope that you will be able to walk in somewhere. -Curated top shelf spirits Only at certain bars and only if you ask. -Welcome bottle of sparkling wine on the house uncorked by your butler. There was champagne but we uncorked it on our own and it was never even mentioned by our butler. -Complimentary in-suite bottle of wine and basket of fruits upon arrival. There was a bottle of wine but no fruit. -In-suite selection of fine liquors. Nope. Not even one bottle. We were told by our "butler" this was discontinued after Covid and is not being reinstated. After pressing, we did get ONE bottle of liquor. -Enhanced minibar restocked daily. Only if you place the request in the app. Simple things like Club Soda will not be restocked without asking (sometimes multiple times). -Upgraded set of bathroom amenities. Had to ask to be restocked when we ran out. No bar soap was left next to sinks for handwashing. -Beach Agent services and assistance from sunrise to sunset. Literally don't even know what this is or where we would have found out about it. -Complimentary beach bag and slippers for you to take home as a special gift. No beach bag at all. There were slippers which were on the floor in the closet. -Luxurious 100% pure fine cotton robes in your room. Thin, waffle weave robes. -In suite complimentary aromatherapy from The PH Spa. None of this ever happened or was even offered -Nightly turndown service for ultimate relaxation. Stayed for 7 nights, had 2 rooms (the directors suite) and not one bed was ever turned down. -Thoughtfully chosen pillow selection from The PH Spa menu. There were pillow on the bed, no menu, no choosing. This again was never offered or provided. After all of this, know that the food is mediocre, it took several days for my husband to get what he actually ordered at any meal at any restaurant. We were constantly being upsold from bottles of wine to dinners on the beach to additional bottles of wine in the room. We asked if we could make a reservation to paddle board, only to be told that because we had never done it, they would not allow us to try it but we could rent a jet ski for $150 per machine. It got to the point where we just stopped trying because the upselling was excessive, which is a real mood killer, especially since we already paid a premium for elevated service which was not rendered. The beach is nice but you have to walk through non-resort workers aggressively selling excursions, jewelry and massages. There were times the music/PA system at the pool was so loud there was literally no where on the resort or beach you could go to get away from the noise. The pool parties were fun (Wednesday and Saturdays at 3) when they fill the pool with foam and beach balls. Most of the staff was courteous and nice. The night shows were pretty cool as well, the entertainment and dancing teams were so talented! Costa Rica was absolutely gorgeous and the people off resort were so incredibly genuine, kind and fun to be around. We will ABSOLUTELY be back to Costa Rica and will absolutely NOT be visiting this or any other Planet Hollywood EVER and would caution against choosing this resort.

The service at Blue Star Tex Mex Cantina was excellent. The staff was quick to serve the drinks and food. The food tasted very good. We had Dylan and Josue and had a very good experience. We had a large group and we all left very satisfied. Thank you!

Blue Star Tex Mex
We are repeat visitors to Planet Hollywood Costa Rica. This time to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had dinner at Blue Star Tex Mex and the food was flavorful! Cooked to perfection. My husband loved the steak that had a perfect sear on the outside and cooked medium in the inside as he requested. Our servers were also attentive and kind! Thank you Dylan and Josue for a food service experience that matched the deliciousness of the food itself!

Blue Star Tex Mex PH Review
Dylan and Josuè were attentive and friendly. We never waited on our food or a drink refill. They also made great suggestions on the menu. It was a pleasure having them as our waiters. We recommend future guests dine at blue star for a great Tex-Mex experience.

Cabanas at Planet Hollywood
Josue from Cabanas took great care of us. He was very attentive and made sure we always had everything that we needed. The day we werw there was my daughter's 10th birthday and he did everything to make sure she had a special day! Would highly recommend, it is a unique experience.
