Stay in ANY other hotel
In all of my years of traveling I’ve never seen anything like this hotel. It’s like an old Howard Johnson motel from the 60s and is long overdue for a renovation. Case in point, after checking in we were told they didn’t have running water. Yes, you read that right. No water. No showers, toilets, or food. They said it’d be fixed in 20 minutes but hours went by and every time we asked they said “20 minutes.” People were so nonchalant about it too, like it was a normal occurrence. No sense of urgency. No apologies. Just “20 minutes” every time we asked if it was fixed. After spending 15 hours traveling to get there, finding an old hotel with no ability to shower, etc was just too much. The place was grimy and smelled awful. (Hours of people using the bathrooms but not flushing. Awesome, huh?) They did get the water fixed after we’d been there about 7 hours and told us they’d upgrade our room but we were done. We checked out and moved to a hotel a few doors down. Funny thing was that the new hotel was only slightly more expensive. Go figure. Do yourself a favor if you’ve decided to stay in Cabo Sam José. Pick another hotel.

No Sleep
House Keeping cleaning rooms at 10pm!! Moving beds around waking guest up. There is also construction on a new building next door that I was not warned about. The jacuzzi is not hot at all with only 2 jets working. The buffet has flies. Very noisy hotel. I guess you get what you pay for. The worst pillows EVER. Super small and lumpy. The walls are so thin that you can hear folks in the next room taking a shower. The place is clean but needs an update BAD. Watch out in the pool because a lot of tiles are missing. Oh btw, on Sunday night, you can here the band playing at the hotel next door! They also want you to wear wristbands the entire stay. I would I want to wear a cloth wristband for 4 days? Also another suprise this morning at 6am, tennis practice starts in the courtyard right below the rooms. Impossible to get a great night's sleep here. I took some video but TA does not accept video uploads, construction, and loud tennis gams all start at 6am

Get what you pay for- it was like camping- in the room- come prepared.
The view was very pretty. We heard heavy snoring through the connecting door- loudness = 7.5 / 10. We asked to change room at the front desk and it was slike " no speaky englais" type attitude. We asked for ear plugs-" huh? what is that?" Found no earplugs at 5 different stores- same respnse. Earplugs = tourist gold!! The food was good at breakfast. We ate out at local restaurants. I like the entertainment- very cool. Other tourists were very friendly. No car rentals to be had.??? why not? There 6 nights- seafood restaurant( santo pulp- EXC!!!) right and down the hill- across the street and upstairs pricey but excellent so very much worth it. Walked to the grocery store and bought snacks- drank alot of coffee- very nice!! Nice to see the police were not heavily armed to the teeth like in playa del carmen. In a nut shell- I got what I paid for. Yes, I would go again. I camp alot- it was like camping- funnnn!! I would like to fish and golf next time.

Great location and beautiful grounds.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Right on the beach! The room was comfortable and pleasant. The room was a great price, but the restaurant was quite overpriced. I thought the location was great. They must have upgraded the place since the bad reviews. I thought it was very nice.
