Best Margaritas on the beach!
Spent 4 days in Cancun for a seminar and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the Intercontinental Presidente. Comfortable beds, huge walk-in shower and... One of the best beaches in Cancun and excellent food and drink quality and service both in the restaurants and the beach bar. Shoutout to Miriam for the very best Margaritas I ever had! Will definitely go back soon!

The way a beach resort should be
Easy to book online and check in was quick. The room was furnished nicely, clean, relatively quiet for being on the street side (try for 3rd or 4th floor). Loved the big, clean, private beach, the two pools, and the relaxed ambience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was delicious and filling; there are three restaurants and the food was delicious.

It was pretty nice but not perfect.
I liked the hotel on a whole. Felt very safe. Lots of security around. Beach was quite pretty. Sand was like baby powder. Perfect palapas. Competent food service on the beach. Breakfast buffet was fine. Service at breakfast was hit or miss to get coffee refills etc. Bed very comfy. Hated the bathroom layout. Felt like I had no privacy. There is no shortage of bottled water delivered to the room daily. Wish the pools were heated while we were there.

I wish it were better
I’ll start with the good… 1. What really makes this hotel is its staff. Every single one was kind, pleasant, helpful and aimed to please guests. True Mexican hospitality! 10/10 A special shoutout to Mario at the hotel lobby bar, what an awesome guy. We had been stood up by a tour company, and we spent some time chatting and laughing with him, we were actually then happy that we had been stood up. We hung out with him the next evening too. Thanks, Mario! 2. The hotel grounds are very well maintained including the beach. 3. The beach is beautiful and swimmable 4. No techno and fist pumping here. We wanted to enjoy reading books or quiet time by the beach and pools and that’s exactly what we got. 5. Hotel location is great, at the end of the strip where it’s nice and quiet but still close enough to easily get around. 6. Beds are very firm for those of us with back issues 7. No issues with billing upon check out. The not to good… 1. Rooms are very dated and need some TLC. Our walls had streaks, the couch looked dirty and worn, the bathroom has no vent so there is a constant odor of dampness and mildew. 2. The shower doors with the half glass partitions are the worse idea ever 3. Upon arrival, our room was not ready and we were asked to check back at 3pm. When we did, our room was still not ready and the front desk was unable to say how much longer the wait would be. However, they offered a “comparable room” just on a lower floor. We accepted but there is no way room 320 should be given as a “comparable” ocean view room. It is a garden/pool view room, definitely not what I paid for. My husband was too annoyed/tired at this point after a day of traveling so we didn’t request a change. 4. Room doors and walls are very thin so noise can be an issue sometimes. 5. The food quality at the restaurants are just ok. Would I stay again? Perhaps if there is a Reno and I would definitely request a room change if warranted.

Fantastic experience!
I stayed at the InterContinental Presidente Cancun in January with my family, and we had an unforgettable experience. The resort offered a wide range of services that made our stay enjoyable, including a 24/7 gym, spa, beachside restaurants, interactive games in the main lobby, table tennis in the garden, and two beautiful swimming pools. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, with soft music playing that never disturbed our downtime. Our room was spacious, and the queen beds were big enough for 3 people to stay comfortably. The mattress was not new and you can feel 2 dents on each side - not comfortable if you are trying to sleep in the middle. The only issue with the room was lack of places to hang wet swims and wet towels. The room got humid from wet items instantly but since there was no balcony and the window barely opened, it was challenging to air the room. Additionally, cleanliness upon arrival was not up to standard, dusty drawers and surfaces all over the room. We had an amazing holiday, and I want to highlight a few staff members who made it even more special: Mario was an exceptional presence during breakfast at the club lounge, providing service that truly stood out. Every morning, he was attentive and professional, ensuring that everything was just right. His coffee was outstanding, with each cup becoming even more delicious than the last. It was clear he took great pride in his craft. A couple of times, he surprised us with custom coffee art, which demonstrated his enthusiasm and personal touch. This thoughtful detail reflected his passion for delivering an individualized experience. Mario’s dedication to his work and his warm, attentive nature made each breakfast feel special, and he left a lasting impression with his skill and hospitality. During the afternoon, we had a pleasure of dining at the beach restaurant “Le Cap” and I can’t stress enough the exceptional experience provided by Guillermo and Martiniano. From the moment we arrived, they were attentive and proactive, consistently checking in to ensure everything was perfect. The upbeat and friendly demeanor made all the difference, always greeting us with a smile and genuinely caring about our experience. Whether it was offering menu recommendations or asking if we needed anything else, they were always on top of it without being intrusive. The level of professionalism and hospitality was evident in everything they did—anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Efficient and thoughtful, made sure every guest was taken care of, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhanced the overall vibe of the beachside setting. Exceptional! During the evening happy hour at the club lounge it’s impossible to overlook the absolutely outstanding service of Josue and Julio Cesar. They maintained a perfect balance of professionalism, hospitality, and positivity throughout our time at the bar. Always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed, they were quick to offer refills and were never too busy to engage in a friendly conversation. Despite the fast-paced environment, they managed to keep the area behind the bar spotless and organized while ensuring the seating area remained clean and comfortable. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making sure all guests were satisfied. They worked seamlessly together, anticipating each other’s moves and ensuring no guest was ever overlooked. The level of coordination between them was exceptional, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience. Their polite and approachable attitude made the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, and their dedication to providing top-tier service was evident in every aspect of their work. A true example of excellent teamwork and hard work, these bartenders went above and beyond to make the experience memorable! Overall, our stay at the InterContinental Presidente Cancun was absolutely perfect, with top services and an atmosphere that made us feel truly relaxed. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway
