    Hits and misses.

Honest review….. just got back from 5 days at this resort. Pueblo Bonito Blanco. First want to say that overall it was a fun trip. The room we had was Deluxe oceanfront with two beds in the bedroom. The room was old and tired and dark in the bedroom and bathroom. The living area had great lighting in the day but dark at night. The beds had old blue bedspread which gave me a cringe. Could barely get around the beds it was so tight. But it was clean enough if you didnt look too deep. The food was okay. Breakfast at Paloma’s was really the best meal of the day. Not a lot of choices between the Rose and Blanco but was adequate. We never ventured out to catch a shuttle to Sunset and try their restaurants. Paying extra for Fellini ‘s wasn’t worth it to me personally but the food was decent. It seemed the restaurants were understaffed at dinner at times. Having to find chairs at the pool and the beach was not easy. People save them early and let them sit empty for hours. The staff doesn’t prevent it so….🥴. No one wants to get into a confrontation on their vacation so you just move on. This was a disappointment for sure. If your a beach person just know…. You get no peace on the beach, it is a public beach so the locals push you to buy their products relentlessly. It never stops. The friends that we were with enjoyed it but I found it very annoying over time. There is a cruise ship docked right in front of the resort almost everyday, which blocks some of your view of the beauty that you came to see. The location was very convenient and can walk to the marina which was where we would meet up for our water excursions. The tipping: okay I’ve been to both the all inclusive which does not take tips and the ones that expect it. This is definitely one that expects it. If you don’t want to always deal with that then spend a little more on the front end and book somewhere else. We stayed 5 days and tipped around $100 day easily. It’s all in your preference. That being said… we had a good time. I will be back to Cabo but I will come later in the year when it is a bit warmer. The water was cold. 🥶. Had to take jackets for nightly dinners. The whale watching this time of year was spectacular! I also will stay somewhere that is a little more secluded and nicer and just taxi in to the city center for entertainment.

    Great Massage on the Beach

If staying at Rui properties in Cabo and looking for a great massage, look for the sisters Estella & Laura. They do a great job and at a fantastic price. It is a mainly of 3 sisters and 2 brothers who do the massage and they are set up right in front of the Riu Santa Fe.

    Would stay here again!

We have traveled many places, very basis type to very extravagant type of accommodations and this hotel meets in the middle for me. We originally were at the Rose ( luxury suite) and I asked for waterfront, which they did not have so they upgraded us to Blanco ( also luxury suite), no charge which was very awesome. The service and food were exceptional, we did not eat one bad thing here and my fiance is VERY picky about food. The only thing I didn't think was super great were the desserts, which by the time I got to that, I was so full it wasn't that big of deal. We went off the resort to Sunset Monalisa and I liked my food at the resort more, no joke. Dont get me wrong, Sunset Monalisa's location is amazing, but what I ordered there was just ok. Also, I thought the taxi ride there was slightly high $25 for a 15 min taxi ride ( which I do not take them very often in general so maybe thats average?) Room service was awesome, very timely, however the cleaning service does not restock your fridge with waters or beer so you will have to order it to the room every time you need more and there are limits. Beach and grounds were so well maintained. You will get hassled every day from beach vendors for trinkets and excursions, but just say no and they move on. The rooms are very dated so if you are looking for upscale decor, furniture and bedding and thats a deal breaker for you, I would book some where else. While it is dated, the room was very clean. No bugs, no weird noises, shower pressure was high and temp was good- I really could not hear our neighbors either but we had only one. The view from our balcony was great, we were out there very often just drinking and relaxing. The spa prices are outrageous- we have spent less at higher end hotels! We ended up walking 8 min. down the beach and got exceptional massages at Medano Massages, best $40 you will spend. While it is not a "spa" experience" your eyes are closed half the time anyway, well worth it! Not resort related, but at the airport, if you see the tacos...dont even bother. we paid $110 for 6 tacos and 2 beers!!!! I felt so had and taken advantage of, but I had already enjoyed the items then was SO shocked when I saw how much it was. Overall, we would stay here again for sure!

Great service and views, needs upkeep

The highlight of our stay was the service. The staff was absolutely lovely, gave clear communication and was eager to help us have the best time possible. Though our view was gorgeous in the suite they put us in, I mentioned to the bellhop I was hoping we’d have a view of the rocks - within ten minutes they’d moved us to another suite with a perfect view of the rocks. Housekeeping, room service and the waitstaff at the restaurants were all top notch. The view was unbeatable and the pool was fun. Being on the same grounds as the Rosé gave more options which was nice. I liked the modern technology they used - the app, discreet wristbands, and tablets for bills in the restaurants, etc. No, I would not call this a luxury resort. It’s pretty worn down and the food was not impressive. We did a lot of activities and excursions, so it served as a great homebase. But if our whole trip was spent just at the resort, I think I would have been disappointed. There are some pretty simple they could take in the rooms to get it closer to that level - i.e. fix broken things furnishings, make sure there are accessible outlets, take old screws out of the walls, etc. - so I hope they will make it a priority to do those things because it has the potential to really be a great place.

    Location, Location, Location

Just got back from the Pueblo Blanco Los Cabos. I give the hotel 5 stars for location and 2 stars for the room, amenities and service. The rooms need major updating. Felt like I was in another decade, and the walls are so thin and narrow. The bathroom is super claustrophobic. Pull out sofa isn't comfortable for even a kid, and the blankets are not cozy. Water smelled and stayed in both the shower and sink for so long. Grossed me out, especially with all the sand hanging around. I'm not sure if this is a covid side effect, but what's the deal with hotels being so stingy about towels? like, hello we have five guests in the family suite… Don't you think we need five towels? Anyway, I was in the room with the housekeeper and watched her clean our dishes with a sponge and no soap. We didn't do the all inclusive, but pool food was decent and drinks as expected from an all inclusive. Bottomline, if you don't care about luxury or a 5 star experience, this place wins. The location does make up for a lot of it. Just wouldn't do it again, because i'm a bit of a hotel snob.
