    Nice, relaxing week at Pacifica

Thanks to the excellent information in many of the previous reviews, we had a great time at Pacifica. Here are our notes/observations from our recent stay. 1. The 5 star review is from a context that takes into account the value proposition from a cost perspective. A week (Saturday to Saturday) for two of us, including nonstop flights from Vancouver, was around $3000 USD total. Felt like a great deal for the resort. 2. The place is beautiful (think Scottsdale, Arizona with cactus and palm trees but also a spectacular ocean). Even at its busiest it didn’t seem crowded. We were always able to find lounge chairs. Beach towels are always available. While you can’t swim in the ocean, the beach is beautiful and the waves sound like thunder. One morning we saw whales spouting and breaching in the distance. It’s also one of the very few resorts where you can see both spectacular sunrises and sunsets. 3. The staff is great, excellent at what they do, very consistent and efficient. 4. The rooms are nice but not fancy and in a way almost spartan. (We were in a basic room and not the Towers). For example no comfortable chair or couch in the room. The patios have comfortable chairs and there is a very useful drying rack on the patio wall for your swim gear. 5. The food is pretty good and at times even excellent. We liked Pescados and Peninsula best. The pool bar lunch wasn’t as good as similar resorts but lunch in Siempre was pretty good (we especially liked the tuna poke bowl). Breakfast was typical for a resort with made to order eggs and a buffet with a large variety. Pro tip we used from previous reviewer: grab the shuttle and go to Quivira for breakfast. We went twice and it was excellent both times. 6. Speaking of Quivira. We spent the upcharge to have dinner there. Beautiful place (sit outside if you can) but definitely not worth the upcharge. Steaks were ok but not great. If you want to spend a little extra money, reserve the beach cabanas for $40/day. Super comfortable, beautiful ocean views and excellent, attentive service from the cabana attendants. 7. Another pro tip from previous reviewer: when you check in you are told to see the women at an adjacent table for more information on the resort. Bypass unless you want a hardsell for a timeshare. We met a couple who endured the timeshare presentation to get a Quiivira steakhouse dinner for no upcharge. They said it was an awful experience and were told at one point they were either “broke or stupid“ for not wanting a timeshare. 8. You are given a bracelet when you check in. This is your room key which is great. But it is also an ID you have to tap after every meal. Ostensibly it’s to track food but truly it’s to drive tipping. We just always used cash and bypassed the screen tipping. 9. We took the shuttle to Sunset but only took a look at the food market. The offerings looked good (including a gelato place) and it might be a good lunch option. We also went to Rose thinking we’d get in the ocean. It was absolutely packed and we left quickly to head back to the serenity of Pacifica. 10. We played pickleball one afternoon. They have four courts but no one else was playing. A sign said there was open play 8-10 but we did not validate. We would definitely go back to Pacifica.

Wonderful time at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica

We stayed from October 8, 2024 to October 23, 2024 (15 days) at Pacifica. We had a wonderful time, the weather was perfect and everyone treated us like family. I would like to thank Ana, Florinda and Javier at Siempre for always smiling and giving us execelent service at breakast and making us feel like we were part of the family. Marco and Amanda around the pool always made sure we were okay and always asked if we needed anything. Are wedding anniversary was on Qctober 20th and the team from guest services at the pool got us a slice of cake wishing us a "Happy Anniversary" as did the team at Siempre. Ofelia at the sports bar made us feel welcome every night and was always smiling, she is also a wonderful employee. We want to say thank you to all the employees who made are vacation special. We will be back next year.

Can’t wait to go back again!

This is our fourth time staying here over the past decade. It gets better every time! The views are unmatched in Cabo and the privacy is exceptional. This time, we also got the amazing experience watching the release of about 150 baby turtles on the beach. The food selection onsite is also delicious. Pescados is always our favorite - Cesar was the best waiter. We thoroughly enjoyed our beach time and Luis took amazing care of us out there. The whole staff is always kind and welcoming. We always feel like we get good value for our money.

    Incredible All-Inclusive Resort

We had the most amazing time at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica! The food was excellent and I can’t say enough good things about the staff! Everyone was so accommodating and made our stay extra special. Highly recommend checking out the other properties as well. They are all beautiful and you can enjoy the same top notch meals. We are already planning our next trip!

    So Amazing We Booked Again!

We had such a great time that I’ve already booked a week for next year. I’ll break down my review so you can jump to just the parts you might be interested in. Arrival We had the private shuttle booked through the hotel and everything was perfect. Easy breezy. Checking in was great as well…offered us a welcome drink and just felt like vacation started right away bc of the amazing scent of the lobby. We made it out of the lobby and then this man was almost chasing after us to see if we were interested in some 90 min lecture (assuming it was for time shares)…we politely declined and were never bothered again. Room Room was nice….nothing fancy. The lighting was great though….very calming. The bed was a little on the firm side but they do offer a pillow menu which I will take advantage of next time. When we first got in the room we were called by housekeeping to see if we wanted to set up a time each day for them to come but we never know when we are going to be out of the room so I just called the next day to see if they can come every other day. They did a turn down service which was great. Tip these ladies…they deserve it. We did notice however that you can hear the people above us walking around and dropping things which was a bit annoying. Restaurants So this is where it gets confusing…..if you have the all inclusive package you don’t need to tip. But they will ask you after each meal bc you need to ‘check out’ which is annoying. I really don’t understand why they can’t give people who do NOT choose the all inclusive option a different bracelet. So on the first day, when we arrived we went to lunch bc our room wasn’t ready yet. The waiter asked if I wanted to leave a tip and I wasn’t sure so I left $5. When I checked my agreement back in the room, I noticed tips are included for dining so the rest of the time I didn’t additionally tip. We aren’t drinkers so can’t comment on the alcohol. You do not need to make reservations if you are just 2 people. We didn’t have one problem going to any of the many restaurants between Pacifica and Sunset when it came to reservations. I will however say that there are only 3 restaurants at Pacifica and the main one Peninsula served very small portions (like those at a high end fancy place). My fiancé ordered a pork chop which was undercooked but they took it back and fixed it. He didn’t really like it and I have to say we weren’t fans of this restaurant so we didn’t go back. We wound up eating dinner over at the Sunset bc the choices were much better. I feel like the majority of people opt for the all inclusive so if anyone from upper management is reading this, it would save so much time and money if people who are AI don’t need to ‘check out’. Those ipads they are using cost money to purchase and maintain….why not just use them for people who either upgrade their meal to something additional or who are not AI? (*or just make the resort all inclusive like every other one and eliminate the check out process). Also you have to wait for the waiter to come back to check you out and sometimes it can take awhile (but that may just be the New Yorker in me being impatient). Pool Didn’t have an issue at all finding a lounger. I get up very early so I left my fiancé to sleep late and I went to the pool and got our chairs. I laid out there til we went to breakfast. I didn’t see anyone saving a chair and not returning for hours and hours. Pool temperature was fine. Service at the pool area was fantastic. There is however a ‘fly’ issue at this place for some reason especially at the pool. It’s not a deal breaker but I couldn’t understand why so many were by the pool. I think you can ask for a citronella type candle and they will put one by your chair. At the restaurant Siempre, we opted for indoor dining and there was a bit of a fly issue too but not nearly as bad by the pool. Obviously it’s because of the doors opening and closing and the waiters going in and out of the outdoor seating so not sure how to fix this. We did have to leave some food untouched however bc a fly landed on it (and one fell to his death in a glass of iced tea). Shuttles You can take shuttles to each of the sister resorts. The shuttle to Sunset runs all the time so I think the longest we waited was 3 mins. You can also walk there by way of the same route as the shuttle which we did one day and it was a nice walk…about 15 mins. If you want to take the shuttle from Sunset to Rose you have to book it through the app. They run from Sunset every hour on the hour (12, 1, 2 etc) and from Rose (near downtown area) back to Sunset every hour on the half hour (12:30, 1:30 etc). We did this quite often bc we found a great massage place on the beach by Rose (Massages at The Sand Bar) which was only a 10 min walk from the Rose. If you wanted to go into the downtown/marina area I would recommend the shuttle bc it’s ‘free’. The only thing that bothered me was you need a ticket even though you have it on the app so again, if anyone from upper management is reading this, this could be a cost saving feature…just show your booking to the driver and eliminate the paper receipt. It saves money and garbage. Service and Grounds Everyone was great, no issues at all except for one guy at the Rose who for some reason didn’t want to be bothered printing out my shuttle ticket (which is why I’m saying they kinda aren’t even needed). He said to me twice ‘just show him your app booking’. I’ve already booked a week for next year and cant wait to go back to Pacifica again. Pros | Private Shuttle to and from airport. Shuttles to and from sister resorts. Food at both locations. Quiet and relaxing. Cons | Beds a little too firm and flies by the pool (but honestly, this is a reach for me to even say this is a ‘con’). Checking out after each meal (kinda annoying).
