Exceptional service in Aruba
We have stayed at the Renaissance Ocean Suites in Aruba for many years and have always been incredibly pleased. They are careful to attend to all the details and it shows. Our housekeeper Maritza is the absolute best. She has become like family to us. When we arrive she greets us with hugs and the warmest welcome. She works so hard to ensure a sparkling room each day-removing literally every hair and grain of sand each day. My family member requires daily changing of sheets and she does it with a smile. We couldn’t be more thankful for Maritza. We also have appreciated the help that Etrovina has given. She is equally kind, caring and helpful! We love the Renaissance Island and spend our days there. The boat to the island is awesome and we always appreciate the safety and care the drivers show. We use the shuttle to go to the mall and appreciate the convenience of this service. The drivers are always friendly. We also needed help from the Navigator who booked dinner reservations for us for several nights. She even offered to call the following day since one of our restaurants was closed. And she did! This year we had breakfast a few times on the island and it was so delicious! Way too much food but plenty of leftovers that you look forward to! Service at the restaurant is exceptional, as well as servers who came to our palapa. I also participated in the Tuesday yoga class on the island. The instructor was exceptional! She provided great cues to us. Lastly, we used the services in the island for snorkel gear and a floating mat. Also great offers that are free for staying at the hotel. I could go on and on! Thank you for another great year, Renaissance Ocean suites!

Rated Three Stars Due to the Mess at L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House
We booked a two-night stay and arrived early, but our room wasn’t ready. We left our bags with the hotel and spent the afternoon at Flamingo Island, which was amazing, though the food options were limited. That wasn’t a major issue. When we returned in the late afternoon, we received our room keys, but the assigned room faced the main street, where we could hear loud traffic. The bathroom vent was also full of dust. I went to the reception to express my dissatisfaction. The duty manager, whose name I can’t recall, was lovely and immediately moved us to another room with a slight port view. This room was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed, allowing us to get a good night’s sleep. On the 17th, we went out to celebrate and walked around the mall. We first tried Aquarius, but it was overcrowded. Without a reservation, we decided to try the steakhouse. The receptionist, who was very kind, informed us that although the restaurant was full, we could dine at the bar if we didn’t mind. We placed our order and, after waiting, moved to an empty table with the receptionist’s approval. We ordered a ribeye steak, specifically requesting it to be well done. However, when my steak arrived, it was undercooked and still bloody. We pointed this out to the waitress, who nervously took the steak back to the kitchen. After waiting another 15 minutes, we addressed our concern again with the same waitress, but she smirked at us and walked off, clearly overwhelmed that night. When the steak was finally cooked properly, it was already 20 minutes too late. Frustrated, we decided to leave but first spoke to a supervisor to explain what had happened. She was apologetic and tried to make things right, but at that point, we just wanted to go. The next morning, we received a call from the front desk asking if they could do anything to make up for our bad experience. We didn’t want any compensation but wanted to give a heads up to improve customer service and ensure better attention to food orders.

Customer Service - Spectacular!! Resort is gorgeous!!
The resort is beautiful. Renaissance Island is absolutely gorgeous!! But - the absolutely fabulous customer sevrice we received from Arlyn Gonzaga made the entire experience spectacular!! Arlyn goes above and beyond to help you with anything that you need. Arlyn has great receommendations to make sure your needs are met!! Arlyn you really are the best in what you do!! Thank you for everything!!

Close to perfect
Traveling solo can be daunting. This resort is my favorite in Aruba (so far). Great location, excellent amenities, comfortable beds, fine water pressure. The few things I had to fuss about were tended to immediately. The staff here goes above and beyond to please. Shout out to Aisheline and Melanie at Blue for constantly checking on me and keeping me hydrated. Also big hugs and thanks to Betty at Aquarius for being so cheerful in the mornings. Hint: make a reservation for LG Smith’s if you’re craving steak. My only complaint about the resort are the worn out pool chaises with stained cushions. See you in ‘26 RenAruba ❤️

Shocked
Well where do I start with this stay, The staff in the main bar were abysmal, asked if there was table service or bar service, and he turned around and said there was the bar, having worked in hospitality there was no way to speak to a guest. The drinks took far too long and when it came to the bill I asked for the service charge to be taken off the waiter just gave me a dirty look. When I passed this feedback on to the front desk they apologised but it did not make up for the impact it had on my stay. In the Bedroom in which my friends were staying bits were hanging, lack of towels in the room, no body wash, and no shampoo. These are just the small things. Getting out to the Island is not too bad, service on the island is just ok could have been better, Overall just very disappointed with this stay.
