Was worried about negative reviews and ended up pleasantly surprised!

We were a little nervous about our stay here as some of the reviews were negative. Don’t listen to the negative reviews! The food offered was fresh and delicious. Breakfast buffet was probably the best with fresh omelets, tasty pastries and real guacamole was offered at all buffets - hooray! The drinks and bartenders were great. So many hard working people at this hotel. Had fun doing water aerobics. The rooms and hotel itself are a bit dated but clean and totally fine. Good value overall and decent experience.

RIU Cancun

We enjoyed our week at this resort. Food was good. Ate most meals at the buffet and liked the large variety of foods. Pools and bars were great. Only issue I had was that you couldn’t hear the music at the swim up bar pool and weren’t allowed to have your own music. Needs another speaker on that side of the pool. Most issues we had with room was taken care of quickly. Only once we had to go to front desk to get something taken care of. Our safe was broken. Didn’t do any parties at Caribe and would have liked to see a pool party at this resort. Enjoyed our stay and would return. Thanks

Party pee palace

The resort is quite modern and always clean. There are a variety of pools and restaurants. We ate at three of the specialty restaurants and they were very good. The buffet was plentiful and the food was good. The resort I will tell you is geered toward a twenty to thirty year old crowd. It is very noisy and there is a lot of drinking to the point of people being wheeled to their rooms in wheelchairs by hotel security because they are too drunk to walk there. The main bar pool get very cloudy and un kept by the mid day as these young partiers dont leave the pool all day. YUK. If you are over the age of thirty and looking for a quieter type of holiday this is not the resort for you.

2nd visit

Love this place. Great value - first class service. Spring Breakers were the only downside - making a mess of the facility and sleep patterns. Lessons learnt to avoid March in future. Great location…. Would highly recommend.

Vacation

We had a great time. Resort was really nice. One issue I had was a clog shower the first day of my stay. Maintenance did come and resolve the issue in the morning. My one recommendation would be to enlarge the gym. For a large resort or this, the gym was packed and some guest left led and came back later

Spring Break Policies -

1. Student / Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted ONLY at Riu Cancun & Riu Caribe

2. All Student / Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly On Request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.

3. If a Student / Spring Breaker Group is accepted:

a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments

b. Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.

c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID

d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.

4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
