  Noise, noise, noise

  Can’t recommend this hotel unless you are looking for a 18-30 experience. Don’t get me wrong- the staff are brilliant but…. it has loud music both day and night. Daytime the music at the pool bars is loud and thumping. Same at night with the disco noise you can hear in your rooms at 1 am and after. Certainly not the relaxing holiday I had expected

  First Time Experience to Mexico, Rui Dunamar.

  This was my first ever trip to Mexico and I must say it was a great experience at the Rui Dunamar! The property in general was kept very clean with one exception being visible plastic waste along the top of the beach, most visits to the beach I collected some items to place in the garbage can. The food and drink services where good, the only improvement would be drink service at the buffet being slow, many guests would get up to find their own drinks. The pools and activities provided where clean and fun. Thanks for the great experience!

  Fantastic Family Vacation

  We booked our stay directly with RIU, RIU provided us with transportation from the Airport for free. (All was easy to navigate) I think we got lucky because our transportation was direct and just our family of 9 passengers. We had a great vacation, with lots of good food and drinks. The Hotel was spaced out so it didn't feel crowded or too large. You could pick whichever restaurant you wanted to eat at, wait times were usually within minutes. None of the pools had a deep end so was great for children. The bars had 4 to 5 bartenders so getting a drink was quick and easy. Around the pools we also had access to a drink cart and snack bar. There is water slide park for older kids and water splash pad/pool for younger children. The entertainment was very good one, one night they had a circus and another night they had a glow in the dark party.(Every day has something new and fun) The beach is very nice white sand, lots of shade and lots of seating under the palm trees. The staff were all pleasant, and provided great quality of service even if you didn't. tip them (But you should tip them they are doing a great job)

  Riu Dunamar Family Vacation

  Riu Dunamar lived up to our expectations. The immaculate resort, with friendly staff, made the family vacation a trouble-free vacation. Most of the meals on the buffet were very good. The sports bar offered snacks and excellent coffee outside dining hours. Check-in and check-out were trouble-free.

  Disappointed with our stay at Riu Dunamar

  We are very polite and nice people who treat absolutely everyone with the utmost respect, so it was incredibly disheartening to be treated so poorly during our stay at Hotel Riu Dunamar. Unfortunately, the staff was unhelpful, unfriendly, and lacked basic customer service skills. There were no smiles, no warmth, and certainly no sense of hospitality. Every conversation with the staff felt like an inconvenience to them, making us feel unwelcome throughout our stay. Before our arrival, we requested for our rooms to be together and even requested room decorations, which was confirmed in emails prior to our stay. We were told the team would “try” to decorate the room, and at check-in, we were reassured that the decorations would be done, especially after we re-requested it. Unfortunately, our rooms were not together, and after asking multiple times, we were finally granted rooms that were just “close to each other.” To make matters worse, our room was never decorated despite the repeated reassurances. At the restaurants, the staff and hosts treated us like we were a burden. After being seated, there was no service unless we actively sought help ourselves. Dining became an unpleasant and frustrating experience. We also faced repeated issues with basic amenities. It took six requests and four days for our minibar to be refilled. The safe in our room was fixed only after three requests but stopped working again shortly after. Another major issue was the lack of enforcement regarding smoking and vaping. People were smoking everywhere—by the pool, in the theater, and even in the front lobby. This created an uncomfortable environment, especially for those seeking a clean and family-friendly atmosphere. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. We would not recommend Hotel Riu Dunamar to others and will not be returning. The only positive were that the location is absolutely stunning. The beach, the water are absolutely amazing. Our room cleaner was the only staff member that cared, making sure the kids have a good laugh and appreciate the "towel animals" very nice touch.
