These staff made my vacation
The resort is closing shortly for 6 months for much needed renovations. We went across the street to the new part which is cleaner and the staff is much more attentive. A big shout out to Richard in the buffet who runs a tight ship over there compared to the main buffet which often turns into a feeding frenzy, also to the bar staff there Michelle, Alessandro and Yenorye who greeted me with a smile and a fresh drink when needed compared with the othersides pool bar where you had to fight and wait for ever to be served.(please see the pictures of these people for great service)

Great part 1 of our Costa Rica honeymoon
Stayed for 4 nights for part of our honeymoon. Great service from all bars, restaurants, front desk. Everyone is really friendly. Had no hot water the first day but that was pretty much our only complaint. No reservations for a la cartes so have to go early and line up. Only went to Italian for that reason but the buffets were good. Stayed on the newer side so rooms were beautiful and clean. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked great. Overall, I'd recommend staying there for a fun time. Fellow travellers are all friendly and there to have fun! Good music at the bars/pools. We saw a lot of negative reviews before we went and did not have a negative experience at all!! Thanks Riy Guancaste..maybe we'll see ya again

Happy!
I traveled solo to RIU Guanacaste and am very pleased with my trip! Food was great! I was able to go to the restaurants alone! I felt safe! The drinks were amazing! My favorite was the espresso martini! The staff was friendly and fun! The place was clean and well taken are of. I want to go back after the renovation. This was a perfect place to go for a solo trip where I just wanted to relax and disengage from life!

Riu
Great service. Awesome food. I really enjoyed the new section of the hotel. The room was nice. I liked that the toilet was separate from the shower. Would have been nice if the sink was outside of the shower so you could was your hands after going if someone else was in the shower. Beds were comfy. Waterside fun. Ice cream parlor great idea. Needed a washroom on same level as buffet. Over all great stay. Would definitely come back. Franklin, Diego, Gallo, Alessandro, Judy are just a few of your great staff.
