Great Food and Stunning views!
This hotel itself is not very big, however; it was perfect for me as it was quieter and more chilled out than the other two sister hotels which we had access to next door. Some of the staff were awesome and some were ok. One of the barmaids at the pool bar got moody with me when I asked for Barcardi in my cocktail rather than the local rum saying, 'rum is rum' in an aggressive manner. I told her Barcardi is more to my taste as it isn't as strong at the Wray and Nephew; she went ahead and poured me the barcardi with a 'screwface'. Her job is to provide service with a smile, not to be rude and make inappropriate comments! One member of staff at the poolside bar was thoroughly entertaining and sweet, short guy - I can't remember his name but his dancing was on point!! Some of the staff at the buffet restaurant were really nice and attentive. Most of the staff behind the food stations didn't smile, say hello or interact. The pasta station was Yummy! Another member of staff at the sister hotel told me to 'fix my face' as I wasn't smiling and floating around. What she didn't know or care to ask was that I was unwell. This upset me. Some of the attitude on certain members of staff was what we came across throughout Jamaica - unnecessary and abrupt. We also got attitude and mumbling under the breath from some staff who 'latched on' because we weren't tipping them. There was no staff serving drinks on the beach until our last day and he expected to be tipped everytime we ordered a drink - we ordered twice. Had he been friendly and cool, we might have tipped him but, no, he was fake and rude. I'm sure it states on the Riu website - no tipping, unless of course one wishes to. It's like it's expected and you're out of order if you don't. Some people save for years to have a once in a lifetime holiday which costs a lot but these people do not care as all they see is a big £€$ sign! Bravo is an awesome member of staff; happy, friendly, chilled out and caring! He was the best member of staff I met. He and his team were great entertainers at the poolside! The food at this hotel is Amazing!! There was plenty to choose from at all servings. The food at the restaurants were nice too but you could only order a certain amount of food rather than as much as you want. Eating at this hotel was peaceful whereas the other hotels was very busy and hectic. The Reggae Hotel pool parties were the best! At checkout, the staff cut off your wristband and you no longer have access to the hotel apart from the lobby and lobby bar. I wa told to just leave my baggage by the pillar if I wanted to go to the bar. This was not cool since we had spent thousands to stay with them. Every other hotel I've been to allows full access to the hotel and facilities until we need to leave for the airport and a safe place to leave luggage. I had a wait of 3 hours after checkout so ordered a drink at the lobby bar, asking the server if she could bring it to me right outside the bar on the sofa as my luggage was there.. did I get it? No! I didn't bother asking again. I'm not sure if I would stay at the Riu hotels in Jamaica again. If I did, I'd be fully equipped with the attitude I'd adapt to if this behaviour was displayed again. Jamaica is Stunning!! Not just the beaches, but the country itself. It would have been perfect if the people, (namely the moody staff at RIU), were just as nice!

Amazing time
The stay was amazing. The room could’ve been cleaner. But overall the stay was great. The shows at the resort were nice.

Great place
Loved everything about this resort! Food was great! Drinks delicious! People super friendly! Lots of seats around the pools where you could get shade if needed. They have 5 smaller pools all close together and only 1 was the party pool so you could watch from a short distance or join in on the fun. Only bummer was seats around the party pool went quick ;). Entertainment was top notch! Especially night time!

Amazing stay, would recommend but youll need to be open minded.
Weve literally just landed back in the UK after spending 12 days here, I have to say we totally had an amazing time, the rooms are modern and clean, the hotel is looking a little tired if you look hard enough but all in all we cant complain too much. Downgraded a star for lack of Vegan food and general wear and tear of the property, it needs a spruce up (ex lifts missing broken handles) (exterior paint peeling off to reveal the original pink paint) (missing whiskey optic in our room) Pros...... Adult only Amazing entertainment team and events Party atmosphere, but you can get away from it in the quieter areas Beach is clean Food is varied for meat eaters, lots of choice. Views from the Ocean front rooms are amazing! The bar staff are so fast and friendly The sports bar is open 24hrs Private beach Cleaned daily Jerk chicken shack 4 bars including a swim up bar. Cons........ BUSY! full of Americans coming for weekend partys. Noisy corridors at night Poor views from the internal rooms facing the walkways Lack of Vegan food (vegetarian is NOT vegan) please educate your chefs! The internal shop is very expensive The swim up pool is filthy! no one leaves it, Ill let you think on that one! We found the food in the Chinese cold and bland (went twice) same result. You cant use the other Riu hotels next door, yet they could use ours! Having said all this we had a great time, if you turn a blind eye its a really good hotel, if your finicky youlll find fault. Special mention for Glenroy (pool attendant) notice to management this man is wasted as a pool attendant, Id suggest you take him, train him and he could be soooooo much more for the Riu brand! A very helpful, knowledgeable young man who is a credit to what Riu is all about. If I could get him to the UK Id give him a job....
