We’ve just stayed at the Riu Bavaro and it was just perfect! The hotel is amazing and the staff are great, 9 pools to chose from so if you want a quiet day you can have one and if you fancy a more wild day there is a pool for that too. We love our tennis and Jose Louis is just the best and the main reason we return year after year The Riu party is a great experience and caters for all ages The new food court in the Bavaro is a game changer giving multiple options for lunch saving you having to go to the restaurant We will be returning real soon Thank you yet again Riu

Awesome family spring break!
Had an awesome family vaca for spring break. I have to give a shout out to Diana and the whole entertainment team! My son age 14 and daughter age 12 both loved all the activities and Diana went out of her way to make sure we had fun. We loved the food court and the steakhouse. The food court had great pizza, wok station and some of the best tacos. We had the thickest filets I’ve had at the steakhouse and they were delicious. Having stayed at another riu palace, the buffet wasn’t as good but still was decent. Stephanie was great in the morning and always took care of us. All the workers were friendly and never had trouble getting a drink, loved having Tito’s for all my drinks. I wouldn’t listen to the negative reviews and would def recommend this place!

Faultless
We had a brilliant stay. Nothing was too much and the staff were so welcoming and hospitable. The reception staff were accommodating when we did not like the number of stairs to the 3rd floor of the room we were first allocated and kindly moved us to the main building which had lifts. Room was large and modern with everything the brochure said it would have. The breakfast buffets and restaurants had an abundance to suit every nationality. We thoroughly enjoyed all the themed restaurants especially the Asian and the Steakhouse. Have already recommended hotel to friends and family and will definitely be returning.

I have stayed at many AI's and this is my 4th visit to a Riu resort. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, room was very clean and ready upon check in. Lobby is absolutely gorgeous. This is the first time I have had to find my room myself, and take my own luggage to the room. Found that very strange. Food was very typical for an AI, nothing special. Went to the Steakhouse twice as it was very good, ate at the Italian Restaurant, and definitely would not go back. Service was poor, food was poor, and took forever. Never had a problem finding a place to sit either by the beach, or by the pools, plenty to choose from. Plenty of staff taking drink orders around the pools, service was very good. Drinks were hit or miss. Even going to the same bartender, wouldn't gurantee a quality drink. I have never experienced this at an AI either. Blender drinks that were pure liquid, no slushiness to them at all. I would order a typical blender drink and the waiter wouldn't understand what I was asking for. Shout out to Rafael, who bartended by one of the swim up bars, and also took drink orders at night in the theater, he does an amazing job! They also had a lot of college aged spring breakers at this resort. I have not experienced this at what I consider a higher end resort. I am a teacher, so I am limited to traveling over my own spring break. Will not return to a Riu if this is going to be their policy. Several of the nights were very loud into the wee hours of the morning. Overall, really enjoyed this vacation, but would not return to this resort. Needs some polish, falls short in the little things.

What a huge disappointment. Hate that I’m stuck here for the next 6 days! They checked us into the wrong room twice, Separated us from our kids, and our toilet and bathroom floor is covered is urine! Shame on our local high school for thinking this was a good place to send all the families and even worse our travel agent allowed it! Never stay at a Riu!!
