Great place, I'll go again and again I highly recommend this resort. My friends and I typically try to go two times a year.

    Great time, great hotel

I love the RIU hotels! this is my third time, always a different one, never disappointed!! The staff is always so incredibly service minded and willing to help. I love the entertainment and the place is super clean. Can't wait for the next.

Solid 4+* Not five but a great vacation

Here is my review of this property. We loved our trip, and we loved the property overall. Just offering some unbiased feedback about what to expect. 1. The property is very well-kept. The pools are clean and beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony was pleasant for hanging out (when it wasn’t too sunny). 2. The food was … ok. The specialty restaurants were an upscale *experience* (relative to buffet) with not so great food (though the appetizer buffet at the Mexican Fiesta was really nice). We’re not buffet people, but we thought the buffet food outshone most of the specialty food, was fresh and turned over frequently. Given the chance for a do-over, we’d skip the steakhouse and Japanese. We were wishing they would stick to the local flavor and not try to be something they’re not. 3. Our room was a junior suite with two double beds smooshed up together, but each bed was made separately with just sheets. We asked for blankets and it took a while to get them. The separation between the beds was annoying for a couple. Not awful, just something to be aware of. I wished we’d upgraded to a true king for a few more bucks. 4. The TV got a bunch of local stations, only a couple in English and the reception was poor. Though it was a smart TV, it wasn’t connected to wifi (and we couldn’t connect it) so we weren’t able to watch any of our streaming faves. Again, not awful, but just know what to expect. 5. The room keys are VERY sensitive. Don’t get them near your MagSafe phone or they we be cleared fast. Several visits to the desk to get them reprogrammed. 6. Staff was fabulous — every one with a smile and most with excellent English. Greenback tips are gratefully accepted but not demanded. No one ever scowled or looked funny if we forgot our stash that day. But I still wished I’d remembered to bring a wad of bills every day. 7. Beautiful walks on the beach — turn left out of the resort and there’s a mile+ of walking on mostly soft sand near a bunch of other resorts. 8. Book a private transfer back to the airport or you’ll have to leave super early. Our MTS shuttle charged $33 to upgrade to private and it was money well-spent for another beach walk and relaxed breakfast, and 2 hours less at the airport. 9. WiFi is limited to 4 devices per room. You CAN log out of a device, but it’s not clear how to do that (tip: find the router IP address in your settings and enter that in your browser with /logout after. That will free up a device for you. 10. We didn’t do any parties or entertainment. It was a short trip and the resort had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Some of the younger adult guests were a little loud and obnoxious and there were some speakers on the beach but otherwise, most of the noise came from the party pool. Lots more to say but space limits. It was a great 4* vacation — just not 5*
