Great choice for family vacation!
We visited as a family of 3 including one teenager. Resort overall was very nice: beautiful, well-maintained, attentive staff and truly all-inclusive with good food and drinks. Grounds are well kept and beautiful! Has its own nice beaches and next door to another RIU hotel that you can walk to. Room was spacious and quiet, with very large shower. Balcony view was excellent. Mattress, pillow and bedding were average. Friendly and helpful staff. Staff responded quickly to our requests. Lots of staff around pool and beach area and plenty beach space and loungers. Pools were wonderful but for winter visitors, only a couple pools are heated. Good variety of restaurants and food choices, although limited menu at specialty restaurants. Many daytime activities are outdoor near pool and beach, and often aimed at kids. Probably works well for families with younger kids to pre-teens. Need a wider range of evening entertainment for a wider range of ages. Also, times and locations of activities listed on the app wasn't always accurate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would gladly visit the RIU Palace Peninsula again!

New Year 2025
I absolutely loved our stay! We were lucky enough to have Steve Aoki at the Pink Riu Caribe party, that was so much fun, and yes, I was caked :) The staff was fantastic and went above and beyond all my expectations. I have 3 negatives: the entertainment team at the pool was not as interactive with the guests as other RIU Resorts, the rooms were slightly outdated and the "hands on" utensils at the buffets kind of grossed me out. I witnessed too many people touching and leaving the serving utensils in the dish.

Cancun trip
The Riu Palace is a great hotel, the service was second to none, the rooms were good, clean and well kept. The pools were too cold to swim a lot of the days, the wind was really unconformable some days. Service around the pool was excellent, food at buffet was really good with lot's of options. I have stayed at 15+ all inclusive resorts and this was one of the better hotels Cancun is just not my preferred location.

Wonderful stay!
This resort has very good food compared to other resorts that I have been. The restaurants have small menu but they are good and you do not need reservations to get in like many other resorts. I also like the lobby which is beautiful, has a nice view of the ocean and a large area where you can enjoy coffee, cakes..The beach is not the best but still beautiful. The nightly entertainment is a weak part of this hotel but I would come back for the excellent food, the beach and the reasonable price of this hotel.

Explore your all inclusive options…
The lobby and exterior of this hotel and all common areas are clean welcoming and inviting. The room itself has an amazing view… however the room could’ve used a deeper cleaning prior to check in. Beds are super hard and uncomfortable and the chair on the patio came apart completely while being sat in. Lots of sanding.. paint thinning and maintenance happening in hallway during stay. 3 stars is for the restaurants. Tonight was my final night and the first night having a decent meal during my 3 night stay. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were beyond disappointing. Disappointing might even be a generous word. Food was downright awful. Tonight I did the steakhouse and the lobster and steak were decent. Nothing to call home about but for all inclusive just know that you’re in for a very mediocre bland experience and all the guests I interacted with for 72 hours shared my experience. Drinks by the pool were hit or miss.. hard to kind of there was actually any liquor in any of them…Resort itself is on a beautiful white powdery sand clear water beach but I think in Cancun you’d find that at any of these hotel locations. For the food all inclusive option, I would not repeat a stay here.
