    Worth a stay

    I would have given this hotel top marks but for two points. The first was the check in and out process both of which took too long. The second related to the grab and go area where the person serving was sat on her stool doing something on her phone for a couple of minutes before looking to see if there were any customers. Apart from these two points I couldn't fault the hotel. It was clean, well kept and all the facilities (and more) that I required. It is ideally situated for visiting Fisherman's Wharf. I recommend it and would stay there again should I ever return to San Francisco.

    Fantastic stay as usual!

    This place never fails! The staff is very friendly and attentive. Rooms are very clean and affordable. The buffet breakfast has everything you can ask for. I always wishing I could stay longer

    Amazing

    The hotel breakfast was absolutely fabulous. I’ve been to a couple of hotels with breakfasts in America and this one was definitely the best. They FINALLY had some fresh fruits and vegetables. I was not expecting to see any until I go home to Europe, it was a pleasant surprise! They even had strawberries! And lots of other things as well. And sugar free options were included (like jam or maple syrup).

    Great location for Fishermans Wharf

    We arrived in the morning hours. I asked to store my luggage, but instead, we were able to check in early AND got an upgraded room with a balcony. You get 2 free water bottles upon check in. Breakfast was a lot better than other hotels I stayed at. They had eggs, bacon, variety of bread/pastries, potatoes, cut fruits (vs bananas and oranges to peel), coffee, juice, etc. Plenty of servers were there to ensure guests were seated timely. You could not bring food back to your room, but that was okay with me. I ate enough. Riu Plaza was the perfect location. We could walk to the pier, restaurants, the ferris wheel, and the boat for Alcatraz. Oh, and the hop on/hop off bus office was just around the corner as well. Front desk and breakfast area staff were courteous. The bartender was nice, too. We asked for some spots to eat dinner at, and she took out her phone to help us look. We didn't realize the nearby restaurants closed at 9pm. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to my friends and family!
