Hotel is located in a great area to explore the city. With nice bedroom area and comfortable beds. Bathrooms are a little mismatched with blue shower tiles grey wall tiles and beige floor tiles but are functional. The breakfast is your standard buffet breakfast. The pool area and location to the beach is fantastic with very friendly and helpful staff. The negative side: We had a loud noise constantly in our room which we mentioned twice to the reception staff as it kept us awake most of the night. All they kept saying was there wasn’t an issues. On further investigation (by us) we discovered that a large AC unit was outside the window. This was the issue. We felt that the staff were not interested in our concerns even though we were very polite and even apologised for mentioning the noise..maybe that was the issue…we were too polite and not firm enough in requesting a move. As this trip was for a special occasion. it did dampen the trip a little through lack of sleep!! Gave up mentioning it in the end as they obviously weren’t going to do anything about it. No feedback unless we chased up😫 You also get a voucher for 25% off the evening buffet on your first night. Not the best value, lots of options for food at a similar price near by. We have stayed at many RUI hotels and this has fallen slightly below the normal standard we are used to with this chain.

Good location and very good breakfast and diner. Generally good service. Good City tour, taxi etc. desk and service.

3 night pre-cruise stay
First impressions good although check-in was slow. Room spacious & clean although washbasins were not in bathroom. Nice side sea-view & balcony. Restaurant was very very busy and expensive for what was offered. It was buffet style but the food was not kept hot enough & some looked liked it had been sitting out for a long time. You could get fresh cooked meat/fish which was a bit better. No drinks included with meals. The swimming pool was small & the area wasn't very sunny due to the tall palm trees shading the sun-bathing areas. Would advise not to use the free bus from outside hotel as it was uncomfortable & cold and used by what looked like local homeless people & we felt unsafe. This hotel is on the main Collins Avenue which is very busy and directly under the flight path into Miami airport. We would not re-book at this hotel.

The Miami Beach Riu is exactly what I needed. The ocean view balcony room was great! Enjoyed stepping out on the balcony each morning to watch the sunrise. The resort itself is quiet, and there is not a lot of action. You can rent a citi bike, Uber or taxi to go to south beach.We had our pick of pool chairs and pool service was good. If we didn't see something on the drink menu the bartender had no problem making suggested drinks. I liked that the property was gated. Right outside the gate is the beach with unlimited beach chairs. Beach drink service lacked. Food...We chose the half board to include breakfast and dinner. We recommend choosing breakfast only. The dinner buffet was nothing special and we would've rather dined off site.All the staff was welcoming and accomidating.

Amazing stay!
We had an amazing trip to Miami Riu! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great location and service!
