Located conveniently close to the airport, the short 10-minute drive after a long-haul flight was a relief. The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere, and seeing other guests casually enjoying themselves was reassuring. However, the check-in process was lengthy and frustrating, with issues regarding our reservation that weren’t clearly explained. This was especially disappointing as we were a group of seven, arriving to surprise other family members without being spotted!! Once the check-in was finally sorted (though one of the rooms wasn’t ready 🥹 we were able to start enjoying the holiday. Our hotel room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable – no complaints there! Each day at the hotel kept getting better, thanks to the lively energy, positive vibes, and great atmosphere. The entertainment team deserves a special mention – they were phenomenal! Hardworking, talented, and endlessly engaging, they could dance, act, and include guests in the fun with ease. Two members of the team stood out in particular; firstly the incredible talent, beautiful singing voice, dance moves and warm personality of ‘Bubbles’ left a lasting impression on our family. She remembered our names and made our birthday girl feel extra special with a personal serenade. Her charisma and dedication to excellent customer service were unmatched, observing her everyday I was highly impressed – I wished I could bring her back to the UK to work with us! Also must mention fitness and dancer Spade - his exercise classes were fun and engaging and WOW can he dance - he could easily be a professional dancer on stage, films it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s not snapped up. The housekeeping staff were also lovely, always polite and courteous, greeting us warmly as we passed by. Our room always clean, tidied with fab animal towels and inspiration quotes was a nice touch that I looked forward to each day. Our group included a mix of ages, but from the moment we arrived, we all felt comfortable and completely at ease. It was such a relaxing experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

The issue I had was with the nylon wrist band. I immediately was allergic to it. My wrist itched and a black wring developed around my wrist. I had to remove it. I was approached by security for having it. The manager was stern with me once I lost the nylon wrist band. The staff attitude changed to being a bit mean to me. In the day that followed I was approached again after I let the front desk staff know I didn't locate it. I walked toward the pool security stopped me again and asked for the nylon bracelet. Took my photo, walked me back the front desk. The manger assured me I would have to pay the fee for another bracelet. I assured him I would not be paying that especially for something that immediately irritated my skin upon contact. The whole attitude of the front desk staff changed to being very curt to me. The following I was packing my belongings to catch an early flight home as it would be of great inconvenience to stay and be harassed. Not be able to eat or drink anything or use the amenities. I found the bracelet. I let the front desk know that. I was mentally exhausted by that time and the remaining of my days left me irritated of the staff. I recommend something hypoallergenic be used for patrons to wear like a snap on rubber bracelet or something else. I will not be returning to RIU properties because of the nylon bracelet irritation.
