  Fanny from the entertainment team

  We are repeat guests of the Riu Yucatan and the biggest reason is because of the staff…we have had the pleasure of meeting a new member of staff from the entertainment team called Fanny….she has been so approachable,sweet and welcoming and speaks amazing English,straight away we warmed to her…thankyou Fanny you are an asset to the Riu Yucatan …muchas gracias amigo

  Avoid at all costs if you want to be treated like a human

  Avoid Riu Yucatan at all costs! This was, by far, the worst resort experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and completely indifferent to guest concerns. They don’t follow proper procedures, and customer service is practically non-existent. When you do manage to get someone’s attention, they are unwelcoming, dismissive, and outright rude. The rooms are poorly maintained, outdated, and leak when it rains. But the biggest issue? Suspected Mold. My friend was rushed to the hospital in respiratory distress on the day of our friend’s wedding, likely due to mold exposure in the room. Her husband was a groomsman, adding even more stress to an already ruined trip. This is completely unacceptable and a massive health hazard! The night-time receptionist is especially terrible—every single groomsman had problems dealing with him. He was rude, uncooperative, and unwilling to help with even the simplest requests. However, after speaking to the reception manager, I realized it was a lost cause—he was even worse. His attitude was condescending, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. After dealing with him, I wasn’t even surprised by the night-time receptionist’s behavior. Food quality was mediocre at best, with bland, repetitive meals that lacked variety. The drinks were watered down, and bar staff seemed annoyed whenever you ordered anything. Housekeeping was unreliable, and towels often weren’t replaced. This was my third stay at a Riu resort, and after this experience, I doubt I will ever return to any Riu property again. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else—this place is an absolute disaster.

  Excellent stay

  Best resort food Ive ever had by far. Staff were always nice and the resort was beautiful and always kept clean.

  Riu with Friends

  While it's an older hotel, it's worth the stay. The beach is fabulous! The only drawback is there isn't a bar on the beach.

  Best holiday yet!

  Absolutely spectacular!! What an amazing holiday we had here, can't fault anything it was amazing from the staff to the rooms!! Beautiful sandy beach and clear waters. Would come back here in a heartbeat! Bar staff, pool staff, cleaners, reception etc all fantastic!!
