Spring Break Policies -
1. Student / Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted ONLY at Riu Cancun & Riu Caribe.
2. All Student / Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly On Request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.
3. If a Student / Spring Breaker Group is accepted:
a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments
b. Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.
c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID
d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
5. Guests disturbing or generating complaints from other guests or hotel may be removed from the property, at their own expense.

6. Student / Spring Breaker Groups must comply with any protocols (hotel and government) in place at the time of stay at the hotel.

Dec 23, 2024An Acquired taste, wouldn’t stay here again! Avoid swimming in the sea!
We stayed here from the 11th of December this year, having not been here since 2017 and we’re keen to see the new revamp and upgrades. On first impressions we were very impressed and happy with the new room layouts and decor much more inviting and seemed upmarket. They cater for all ages however, the parties can be quite droning at times and no entertainment to cater for the minorities that don’t wish to go to them so a case of if you don’t go to the parties, see to yourself… The staff are absolutely wonderful and make the place, we have no complaints there at all and very friendly. What was very nourishing to see is that there was still a few staff members from our stay in 201 7 who remembered us. A testament to the resorts perhaps? The food was ok, the buffet had good variety, the steakhouse, very disappointing after waiting for a short while to then be given sub par food, the steakhouse was like rubber, and full of fat. We left and went elsewhere. The food should be served hotter! The cleanliness of the public areas were was faultless however, the room at times left a lot to be desired. We had to have our room sprayed twice with some treatment as I woke up the second day full of bites! Along they came accompanied by an accommodation staff member to record what had been done. Now the beach!!!!! Beautiful but could not swim in the water at all it was full of washed up human waste! The managers are fully aware of this matter however, tried to pull wool over my eyes of how it is Manatee’s excrement etc!! Absolutely not! This severely hampered our beach activities and stretched the whole length of the beach and of that of the Rui Peninsula too! Very disappointing. Again the staff great in clearing the Sargassum and the faeces daily but fighting a losing battle. It is nature. The waste floats over from Isla Mujeres! And is all over the forums in Cancun take note. We will not be returning and as such as hampered our trip a little following what has been a very tumultuous year.

Dec 23, 2024Friendly and accommodating staff , food is excellent , beach is perfect
On first arrival we were a bit overwhelmed , a pool party had just finished and lots of drunk people in swimwear , after an 11 hour flight we were exhausted. Lovely drinks on arrival , Accommodation is lovely and clean although our room 509 had a damp smell in it . Beach is spectacular, free kyack hire on beach . Food was superb , service fabulous. Loved the yoga stretch in beach at 10 am every morning . Lots of entertainment . Not a lot of pool facilities for very young children . Lots of loungers . Overall , we had an absolutely fantastic time and would return .

Amazing stay
Amazing stay. I did RIU cancun and RIU caribe on the same vacation. Both places were very nice but i did prefer the RIU Caribe. Restaurants were very nice and overall service.

Keeps getting better
Second trip this year to this location after the remodel. This visit, we had no staff be grumpy at the sports bar. The bacon was actually crispy most days. Staff is constantly picking up after people but yet are never in the way. Will be back yet again.

The location of the hotel is perfect, beautiful beach and views, nice pools and bars, food is good but I think it could be better, in the restaurants meat is a bit hard to eat, my parents had a difficult time with the steak at the steak house and kulinarium. For me it wasn't bad but it could be better.
