Loved the beach!
Family of 4 (kids 12 & 14). Loved our week there. Beautiful beach with plenty of sun chairs, never felt the need to reserve. Pools were busier. Rooms were nice, roomy, and comfortable. Garden view is of a nice garden. Nice for sitting out on the balcony. Bring snorkels as there is great snorkelling opportunities right off the beach (saw lots of fish and stingrays). If you plan to do watersports, don’t wait as they often don’t let people take the boats out if there’s too much wind. We only had one opportunity the entire week. Bring water shoes if you plan to go to Dunn’s, which was worth taking a taxi to (only a 5-10 min drive). Go before 11 am and not on cruise ship days. Food was great, lots of options. Download the Riu app. Necessary for making reservations. And great for ordering anything to the room. They were always responsive to requests. Entertainment crew were very good! Our kids loved beach volleyball. And nighttime entertainment was above average. Water slides were fun, but they’re out of sight so we often forgot they were even there. Always quiet. Overall would recommend to all ages!

Ochi in March at the Riu
This resort was great. The food, staff, amenities and the overall stay was one to remember. The beach was beautiful other than the rocky parts to the end of the resort. Pools were clean and choices between the adult and the kids pool. Lunch at the jerk pit was amazing. Other than the long wait at times. But the jerk chicken was worth the wait. The hamburger in the other hand was often dry and over cooked. Entertainment crew on the resort were amazing.

Relaxing Trip
This property is huge with five gorgeous pools and a great stretch of beach area. I really loved the entertainment. The staff for the entertainment team was amazing we participated in beach volleyball, bingo, morning yoga. It was lovely. The food at this all inclusive has been my favorite of any resort! There were always fresh delicious options every night! The oxtail was my favorite. Would definitely come back.

Fun in the sun
Had an amazing time at the Riu Ocho Rios. Staff is fantastic from wait staff to bar tenders to entertainment team to housekeeping and front desk. Pools are great (although rather cold every morning when you first get in) and the beach is beautiful. Very little seaweed and the water is crystal clear. Food is average for an all-inclusive resort. Always lots to choose from. My favourite was the Italian restaurant. Entertainment was good, but is on a 7 day rotation, so if you are there for longer you see the same things over again. Room I had was very nice with a separate seating area. Bathroom is large for a hotel and the shower is huge. Lots of hot water with good pressure any time you want it. Only mini criticism is the internet. It is fine to check email, etc. but zoom/teams calls are a challenge as is connecting (and staying connected) to work VPN..

Ocho Ríos Vacation
My experience at Hotel Riu in Ocho Ríos was a good one. A few hiccups in the beginning to include waiting almost 5 1/2 hours to get into our room only to be given a room that wasn’t efficient health wise due to mold. This is due to the high moisture and humidity I’m guessing within some of the rooms however it was quickly corrected by changing our room without delay. Food was pretty decent with the exception of the Italian restaurant (I’ve had better). The concerts and shows were pretty well orchestrated with the performers having high energy. Go into town for your souvenirs…I’m sorry but the prices at the hotel are astronomical. Jacuzzi was down which sucked but the massage appointment made up for it. Overall, good experience that I’d come back to again.
