Great food, nice beach, clean rooms, reasonable price, and check-in was fairly quick. Service was particularly good - wine glass never got below half full! Everyone there greets you with a Hola and a smile. Easy walk to the adjacent properties to check out their amenities. The only (slight) negative: there is a bit of stair walking around the lobby, beach, and meal areas. Definitely plan to return!

Jan 28, 2025Nice Getaway
This was our fourth trip to Mexico for a vacation, and the first time at a Rui property. We've stayed at other all-inclusives previously, but wanted to try something new. The good: the property itself is beautiful. The location and views are absolutely stunning. The beach is gorgeous, nice sand, etc. The property was very clean and seemed to be well-maintained. Landscaping was done nicely with great attention to details. The variety of food was good as well- we enjoyed dinner at each of the restaurants and had consistent experiences. The buffet was a good breakfast option with a huge variety of selections. The Italian restaurant was our favorite for lunch, with a salad/fresh fruit bar and a smaller variety of pizza, pasta, and breads. We upgraded to a full ocean view room upon check-in, and it was very much worth it. The not-so-good. Honestly, the worst part of our experience was the comfort of the bed. It was very uncomfortable (hard mattress, no pillow top). We had to ask for a few blankets to sleep on top of so we were more comfortable. There are some elements of the rooms that could use an upgrade, but we were pretty satisfied for the most part. Other observations: the service here was pretty good. Not quite as good as other places we have stayed, but we felt it was adequate. The pool towel situation was unique in that you must turn in towel cards to get towels and return the towels to get the key cards back, otherwise you are assessed a $150 fee. This created some anxiety for us as we were hesitant to leave our towels on our pool chairs for any length of time. This seems like an unnecessarily punitive way of keeping track of towels. In conclusion, this was a nice stay and a good value for the money. The location was amazing. We didn't go off property during our stay, and really just enjoyed relaxing by the pool and resting while we were there. The pools seem to be well maintained as well.

Winter Vacation
Excellent food, very clean and great service. I was concerned about maybe getting some stomach problems that happens sometimes in Mexico, and none of us had any issues (16 people)

The resort is clean, with good food and an exceptional staff. Exactly what I come to expected when I stay at RIU Palaces. I’ve been travelling to RIU Palaces all over the Caribbean for years now. But they have absolutely zero customer loyalty. I believe my room’s view is the worst in the resort. That is the thanks I get for being a loyal customer. Another couple travelling with us staying at the RIU’s for the first time has a wonderful view (we paid the same and booked at the same time). I also frequent other chains like the Royalton’s and the Hyatt family (Secrets and Dreams) (we’re fortunate enough to be able to travel quite a bit) and they do not treat us the same way. They go out of their way to ensure we have the best of everything. With the resort not being at full capacity, wouldn’t you want your guests to experience the best rooms and experience possible? We even asked at time of check-in if we were assigned a room that had a view and the clerk assured us that we indeed had a great view. From our balcony window we can see sand dunes and vacant land. Guess it’s time to start questioning our choice to stay at the RIU’s.
