LOVED!!!
To be honest, this RIU resort changed my whole perspective on choosing RIU! Wonderful trip! Amazing staff, delicious food, beautiful resort! Yes, there is some work that could be done to improve the quality of guest rooms, but nothing that diminished the overall amazing experience my group had! I was genuinely nervous before our trip after reading online reviews, but my fear was all for not! Thank you RIU for an amazing experience! I definitely would recommend and will be back!!

My husband and I came here with my 86 and 88 year old parents who use walkers. We got partial ocean view rooms on the 4th floor. Our room was very nice and clean with a good size balcony. The thing they don’t tell you is these rooms are right by all the music from 7:30-11. If you want a quiet room DO NOT stay in this section of the resort. The first night we had to get a new TV. Using the app to request services is your best route. They responded to our service requests in a very timely manner! It was nice to try a variety of restaurants. The staff at this resort were VERY friendly. We did not have hot water for 3 days, our toilet didn’t work for 2 days and on the last day we had no toilet, water or electricity. I had to have staff help my husband and I get all our luggage, my parents luggage PLUs my parents down 4 flights of stairs ! When the electricity was working, only 1 out of 5 available elevators were working.i noticed staff had their own elevators but were using the only one available to us. Having a variety of pools was great! We used the “quiet” pool most of the time. Very big, clean and never crowded. Never had trouble finding loungers either. Our housekeeper, Marisol, was awesome. Not only was our room clean, but she kept the refrigerator well stocked. My husbands birthday was during our trip and she left him a note, a little painting, and a Dominican figurine.

Fabulous resort, Excellent staff
We have stayed at other RIU hotels and the RIU Palace Punta Cana is an excellent choice for a Caribbean vacation. The hotel layout is easy to navigate and we found it to be very clean and organized. We stayed in room 2059 which is the best and largest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Ocean front and you get the sunrise & sunset views from the large balcony. Thank you to Chay at the front desk. There are plenty of friendly staff to help you. We would like to make a special mention to Ariel, Rosa, Morillo, Sanchez, Audy (Quattro) and Wilson (breakfast cook). These individuals were always positive, friendly and provided excellent service. Service Especial. We were not overly impressed with the quality of the food at the Steakhouse or Japanese restaurant, so we ate at the La Isabela buffet for dinner and La AltaGracia for lunch. Pepe's BBQ chicken and burgers are excellent. Freshly grilled and very tasty. When we stayed at the RIU Aruba last year, the food was excellent and the managers there were actively walking around getting feedback every night from the guests about the food. We did not experience this at RIU Punta Cana and it might be an opportunity for improvement to improve customer satisfaction. More attention could be paid to not overcook the seafood and pork. That being said, we would definitely go back to RIU Palace Punta Cana in a heartbeat. This is a great resort with lots of space, beautiful beach, great entertainment and excellent staff.

Mar 05, 2025Riu Republica- do yourself a favor and dont stay here
It took us over 2 hours to check in because it was so disorganized. We are now 9+ hours without power- the staff does not seem to care at all. It is miserable- many of the rooms are totally dark due to no power. This is the most miserable vacation ever. The hotel should be offering some kind of discount- because this is certainly NOT what we paid for!
