Nice stay, nice memories
The hotel is worth recommending. It has its strengths: service, location, food (including a'la carte restaurants), drinking, cleanliness, reasonable price. I also have a few minor comments: we often missed avocados, which were always available at the neighboring RIU Bambu. Many people booked sunbeds on the beach and pool in the morning and came only after a few hours, and the staff did not react to such selfish practices. The largest swimming pool is a bit too small. Despite being a member of the RIU Class program and the guarantee of a free transfer from the hotel to the airport (PUJ), I was unable to arrange such a transfer. First, I asked the staff 6 days before departure and I was sent back to come back closer to the departure date. I came to Destination Staff again two days before departure and received the same answer again: nothing is known yet, maybe something will become clear tomorrow. I couldn't risk missing my transfer right before departure and took advantage of a private paid transfer to the airport.

Very good hotel but dirty rooms!
Very good hotel. Testy food, super drinks, great service. Problem was the room. Room was big but really dirty, fungus on the walls, terrible dirty shower, bathroom huge minus. Rooms need to be renewed! All the rest was really nice! Nice beach, nice swimming pools.

thoroughly enjoyed our trip at the riu palace Punta Cana.service was wonderful at all locations throughout the resort. All the employees were friendly and very accommodating, making the trip memorable and very special. Went here to celebrate my 65th birthday and our room was decorated upon arrival.

NO RETURN
Where do i begin. My husband book this family vacations months in advance, We were very excited. We arrived and the outside looked great. We checked in and had to wait because the rooms was not ready. (red flag). When we finally got the rooms was two 2rooms, the floor was still wet, not knowing it was humidity which never goes away. The bedding felt wet, again from the humidity. The first night were tired so we slept, the following morning the floor was still wet and now the rooms smell moldy. We called house and they came and they decide to move us, again there was no rooms available, so we repack our luggage, and it took about 4 or more hours before we finally got another room. By then my girls was getting annoyed. The other room was no better, this one the pillows was stained, the the shower was leaking, the blow dryer in my daughters room almost caught on fire, we called customer service which was in Spanish and they showed up hours later. The food was TERRIBE, we felt pressured into giving tips. They ran out of towels for the pool. We couldn't wait to leave. We wasted almost $9,000. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I also found out that they don't wash the blankets between customers.

The hotel is not worthy of 5 stars. The theme restaurants are always full and it is announced at the reception that you should not make reservations... The buffet is neat but everyone is mixed up. There is also no logical structure of layout of the buffet causing this chaos. The quality of the food is ok but the flavors are basic or lack spices. There is no show cooking just some cooks but not the friendliest ones either. The pot of ‘tips’ is next to it... The rooms are very clean and sufficiently spacious and well appointed except for the toilet ‘in’ the bathroom. Towels are changed daily but not completely. Always missing from the ones you are entitled to so you have to ask for more. The air conditioning makes a lot of noise which makes sleeping impossible. The hotel staff is with a few exceptions very unfriendly (they don't even know how to say hello) as if they work against their will. They literally ask for “tips” even though they do not realize that they are unfriendly so you do not. The gardens are beautiful and nicely maintained. The toilets in the complex are also clean and constantly cleaned.
