Dec 25, 2024Please Run Away from there. Let Darren run the resort
Positives: Darren, Shane, all of the front desk workers, Conrad, and everyone went above and beyond. The location was the best! Near Ocho Rios, St. Ann, and Knutsford Express bus station. Negatives: The hot water, volume of water in each room. The food as pathetic and lack the way Jamaicans cook. Same desserts daily, no Jamaican sweet potato pudding, or anything like what Jamaica is known for. The rice, fish, and more had no taste or flavour. Poor quality of food since we stayed there in August 2021. What are you all going to do in order to get proper cook or chef? We had to move from one room because you all are conserving water and electricity. Please clean us the sargassum seaweed from the beach.

7 of us had 10 days at Royal decamaron and I honestly didn't want to come back home we all loved it the food wasn't the best however the cottages were lovely you could here the tree frogs and of it rained you could hear it on the cottage roof all very soothing air con on the room was great we where very close to the beach and restaurant coffee on tap could go anytime for a coffee witch was lovley to go out early grab a coffee sit by the beach and watch the sunrise to sound of the ocean very peaceful the entertainmemt staff were all lovely they remembered everybody's name and always made you feel welcome and included in any activities we had 2 birthday celebrations and the staff dressed the table for us with flowers and balloons and they all sang to the birthday girls the upstairs restaurant had steak on there menu I would recommend the upstairs restaurant because the main restaurant was a bit hit and miss with the food is wasn't the best however the staff on there were all lovely. There is a careibean food hut just outside the complex and that food was very nice also the sunrise and sunset was stunning we also met a man called Cameron at the entrance of the resort he was recommend to us by other tourists staying at the resort for any tours we might like he was also lovely took us to the grotto caves and the river Dunn waterfall and to a beach with a burger hut that was delicious to he said he will take us anywhere we want to go amd his fees are very reasonable I would recommend him for days out. We all had a fantastic holiday and would absolutely go again

Dec 21, 2024A great time at Decameron Runaway Bay
I am writing this as I am waiting for my cab to take me to my next hotel. I stayed in room 615 from the 14th December till the 21st December 2024. The room I stayed in the courtyard room which was clean and smelled nice. The A/C was on arctic, so it was a chilly entrance. I turned it off as I dislike A/C and I was able to settle in really well. I was pleasantly surprised to have a bottle of Wata waiting for me and a fridge in the room. The TV was modern and big. The lights next to the bed were unplugged as were the phone, so I didn’t bother plugging them in as they looked rather old. The bed was inviting and was firm enough for me, so I had not issues with the bedroom. The only thing that I could think of improving is making sure the staff change the sheets rather than turning them over. I only realised when the water stain was on the inside of the duvet. As it makes me wonder how many times this would happen…. Bathroom The bathroom was in need of an update and I hope that the hotel does renovations as soon as possible. The paint on the wall was peeling and I suspect this was due to the fact that the bathroom was poorly ventilated. As it seemed as if the only ventilation was care of a small sliding window, which would cause loads of damp whenever I showered. The bathroom had 2 sets of towels, but didn’t have the face cloth and medium sized towel that most may be accustomed to. The toiletries were standard like most hotels and were kind ok my skin. The resort There are pools, bars, multiple buffets and a selections of grills in between the buffets. The staff are friendly and when you are polite, they are even greater. The staff are a vibe and are down to Earth, but some can be very blunt. The sea views are stunning and the staff always ask if you need something. The buffet provides a good selection of food and desserts. I liked the potato salad and the cheese and crackers. The pumpkin mash was good and the sweet and sour fried chicken was lovely. The Buffett is the pace to be as it gives traditional and fusion foods that you never knew you wanted to try before. The staff work hard to provide something great for the guests, so I appreciate it. The Entertainment Most of the entertainment is focused near the main pool near reception. Whether morning, lunch or dinner, most things will be placed on the stage near the pool. The entertainment team work hard to provide a good variety of entertainment. In the morning’s, to my delight, there are the general knowledge questions and it really gets the guests up and alert. Then there is aqua aerobics and other water sports and games to be a part of. The evenings are great, with live music and a selection of magic shows and music and dancing for those so inclined. There is entertainment for everyone and the team try to get it right forget time, every time. The bar near the poolside is open from around 10 am and serves a selection of slushie, drinks and cocktails. There is something for everyone and I recommend the Pina colada Slushie. The check in is rather efficient and you are provided with information for the wifi. Check out was super fast and I had no problems or issues with it. I am very happy and will be staying next year for 3 weeks as the value for money really speaks.

This was our eleventh visit to Club Caribbean, over 20years. Rooms are very comfortable, cleaned every day with fresh towels. Nice and relaxing time as usual. The food at Club Caribbean has gone downhill since the last time we visited and a few nights they had ran out of food. Hopefully things will improve before our next visit

100% would go again.
The room was clean good big wicked view, got cleaned everyday, fresh towels and water, had a mini bar which I didn't expect, the food was great the drinks great, location great, by the beach, plenty entertainment, I won 2 bottles of rum, bar staff brilliant, and some of the waitress was good to only complaint is the shower not so powerful but I would go again. Everyday I saw improvements going on and the place was lush..me and my friend loved it..
