This is a 70+yr resort with a lot of character. Great jamaican vibe. Location is second to none, on the beach, anchored at one end of the "hip strip". Rooms are clean, plenty of variety of food (all inclusive). Very easy to do day trip to either Ocho Rios or Negril and just 5 minutes from the airport! Okay, the hiccups. The rooms are dated, this is a solid 3 star out of five star resort. If you are expecting 5 star services & facilities, it's not. What you do get is a laid back, casual, fun atmosphere with great vibes from the staff. Additional benefit: you can use the sister resort, Cornwall Beach, beach, bars and restaurants! November 17th, renovation will include common area flooring, changing from door key to card key, room remodeling. Not sure of ADA features. In addition to the nenovations, additional staffing and possibly a elevator. I'm a longtime returnees, just got back, will be back in May. Take it nice and easy, grac

Great experience
Great is an under statement. Never a dull moment with entertainment and the food was excellent. I'm already thinking of booking a next visit. Experience is unforgettable. The staff made you feel welcoming. It's like home away from home. I recommend.

The ac did not work No hand towels Huge stain on the floor with no mat, carpet, rug or attempt to conceal it We arrived and the guest room had no phone and a door which was very hard to open then we had to walk to the opposite end of the property back to reception to be given a new room with a huge stain on the floor no telephone reception and a leaking ac with wall retaining moisture the hot water gauge did not work and was scalding

Great location, excellent staff, amazing food! The bedding are super confortable and rooms are big, clean and offer an oceanview. The enternainment team is just to die for, no way you can sit on your chair and not participate. Would return anytime to spend some vacation or even workationing. Excellent quality-value.

Oct 17, 2024ROYAL Decameron Not Grand Decameron
First of all, the hotel name is not Grand Decameron, but the Royal Decameron. I found this out when my driver was taking me to the hotel, or should I say motel. The Grand Decameron is the sister hotel next door and newer. Now for my stay, I did not know that there was no elevator. I quickly informed the front desk that I could not walk up a 4-floor of steps every day. I was lucky and got a 1st-floor room. I had requested a view of the ocean, but what I got was a side view of the pool. The room was huge, which was a good thing; the bathroom was large with a walk-in shower. The room included no iron, no ironing board, and no washcloth. I don't know how you're supposed to wash your face. When I asked for extra hand towels, I got nothing. Their beach is small with no chairs or umbrellas. What they do have are chairs, umbrellas, and a gazebo on their something of a pier. But if you want to swim, you need to go next door to the sister hotel to swim. Now for the food: if you want to lose weight, this is the place. The food is not well cooked and has no taste. I'm sorry; I tried eating every day but only took spoonfuls of food. We went to the snack shop and ordered hamburgers and fries. They will not let you fix your hamburger; they will do that for you. No, I'd rather fix my own hamburger; I don't take cucumbers on my hamburger. And talking about hamburgers, it was so burned and tasted freezer burned. And for the drinks, what can I say? Watered down. I only found one bartender who put enough alcohol to give me a buzz. Everything else was a disappointment. And if don't like cats. Be prepared for cats walking around and sitting right by your table waiting for food. Dont asks the server to have the cats remove because they won't. Dont waste your money find a better hotel with an elevator.
