Mar 28, 2025I can see why so many we met are frequent visitors!
We loved everything about it! Beautiful property-excellent food & service-everything we requested was done-felt safe with good security & we will def go back! A special thank you to our concierge Armando Magadan who was super attentive & professional! My only complaint is it is so hard to contact the hotel prior to arrival from the States-so dinner reservations at good times were challenging

Our Wonderful 86 th Visit To Our Royal Hideaway Home!
We enjoyed 5 wonderful weeks at our Royal Hideaway home in Playa, which has been our home in Playa del Carmen, since 1999, just 6 months subsequent to its opening. The service remains incredible and each member of the staff truly gives his/ her all to insure that each guest , enjoys the vacation he/ she desires. The dining options are superb and you can’t go wrong with any of your choices of dining venues. If you enjoy a more casual ambiance and either a steak house or Mexican cuisine, then The Grill and Spices will tantalize your palate. The grill offers an al fresco experience, and on a tropical moonlit night it is truly magical. If you enjoy a romantic, more elegant options, try Palazzo, where you can done either indoors in old world Italy, or on the terrace, overlooking the entire property with a wonderful view of Cozumel all perfectly illuminated. There you will meet the super profesional and beautiful, Adriana, the ultimate professional restaurant manager. Ventanas, is featured as Mediterranean cuisine; however, it’s truly more modern cuisine, offering some very unique options, elegantly served and plated. Azia, is the Thai restaurant, where you can enjoy a typical meal at a table,in the tatami room, or even at the Teppanyaki table , ( hibachi). Ventanas has a wonderful piano player nightly at their bar. You can enjoy a beverage of your choice , wherever you choose to dine. Allegria is the main bar and features splendid bartenders and nightly entertainment. There are also shows in the theater that are worth your time. The schedule seems to change so please check with the pool entertainment staff who can fill you in on what’s going on at night, as well as during the day. There are daily activities, such as cocktail lessons, tequila tasting, ceviche making etc. for which you need to sign up for with your Villa concierge . Of course, Javier, Luis, Genaro Eduardo and Jorge are around the pool and beach bringing you whatever you choose to drink or eat! This was our 86 th visit, to our home , and while certainly things have changed over the many years , that we have called RH our home, so has life, and our Royal Hideaway family, continues to be there for us , as we navigate life and all of it’s experiences. I’d like to give very special thanks, to Roberto , the supervisor of the pool entertainment staff, for all of his generous and genuinely kind assistance. He’s the new kid on the block, and it seems that he has risen to the occasion . He is a great asset to Royal Hideaway . In addition great thanks go out to concierges, Ricky and Sucel, who jointly and individually, where extremely supportive , kind and helpful. I’d be remiss, if I also didn’t formally congratulate Roberto Guerra ,on his promotion to Chief Concierge, and thank him for all of his kind and generous assistance as well. Surely, I can’t forgot Sandra Gonzalez, who also made sure things were as they should be. Royal Hideaway remains our true home in Playa, where we have made true friends from all over the world, and we look forward to our 87 th visit, where we hope to see and get to know you!

Vacation
Diana Brito at the front desk was awesome! Very helpful with a great experience and anniversary trip! She helped make easy dinner reservations and find great activities. The pool was amazing and the ocean was very clear and blue. We will definitely be back.

We were at your resort for one week, we saw our concierge 3 times only, and 2 times on the last days at the resort... Fortunately, my sister, my mom et brother in law got there 3 days before us, and they had Gaby as their concierge which was wonderful, helpful and reliable!! She helped us out at the end of our stay for the pick up of luggages and set up our last restaurant reservation. We had a BIG problem in our room 2714, there was a very bad smell coming from the drain of the shower, that we complained about 4 or 5 times... Somebody came once and put some product in the drain, but the morning after, the terrible smell was back again.... Beiing on vacation and always have to complain is really a bad sensation, when you are suppose to relax and enjoy your time in a supposably 5 star resort!!! to me a 3 star!! We also complained about the air conditionning that was not cold enough, but nobody did anything about it either. And we know it can work properly since my mom and sister had a room which smelled very nice and was very comfortable. We would have appreciated a closer attention to our demands since we paid almost $10 000 CDN dollars for our 7 nights stay at your all inclusive resort. I would maybe come back, but for sure would take a room on a second floor since our was feeling like a basement, no natural light coming into the room, really dark even in daylight. .

An excellent vacation.
Excellent and beautiful resort. Ricky, our concierge, took care of all of our dinner arrangements and shuttle transport needs. The staff members are all very accommodating. The beach is absolutely beautiful. This is my second visit to Royal Hideaway and I will definitely return.
