It’s a nice getaway but doesn’t have many services for it to be an all inclusive. All meals took about 2hours. Too long in my opinion. It is nice and quiet but that’s pretty much it.

I have come to RH Playacar 3 times in the last 4 months (and 4 other times over 20 years). My first visit was this year in August. I was lucky enough to have met the best concierge EVER, RICKY! He is a lot of the reason I came back in October, and now December. He has made my usual solo travel, even better! He takes care of anything I need and is also great at listening to my dive stories of my day. So, I am hooked to tje RH Playacar again. Hope to be back in a couple months. <3

RH stay
Facility and service were 5 star. Food at specialty restaurants was very good but buffet was poor. Loved our room but not really ocean view as advertised.

Diamond in the Rough
The outside of the buildings which house the rooms are very nice and well maintained, but the rooms inside need to be totally refurbished. To see such nice buildings makes you want to go inside but once you’re in they’re very disappointing. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Beach is large and spacious but lounge chairs are very uncomfortable. Pools are nice but water needs to be heated in winter months. Food was good, but buffets area the same options every day. If the rooms were updated and the food options more varied this would be a 5 star hotel.

Royal Treatment at the Royal Hideaway
We love Royal Hideaway! We have been here many, many times and this trip we have had the BEST concierge we have ever had on property. Ricky has gone above and beyond to make our trip wonderful. He anticipates our needs, checks in on us several times daily and is so happy & pleasant. Such a beautiful property and Ricky has given us the Royal treatment.
