    Amazing family vacation

    We just returned from a week away and were very nervous from all the negative reviews before we left as we were not sure what to expect. We stayed in the diamond club and I don’t think would go to that resort if not diamond club. The butlers and extra services were totally worth it. Our butlers Max and Pedro were over the top amazing checking in with us multiple times during the day, bringing us towels and making dinner reservations. My daughter was preparing for exams and they would print off material and hand deliver it. I asked for a last minute birthday surprise for my daughter and they went over the top decorating our room and having light projectors so when we walked in it was like stars all on the ceiling. There was a group of 11 of us and my butlers and my mom’s butler worked together to ensure we had supper together every night. My mom and sisters butler, Adonis was also amazing helping us with a special birthday for my mom and getting a cake organized for my daughter. These guys are amazing at their jobs and made our experience excellent. My family had two swim out rooms which we really enjoyed. Also, shout out to Fernando who was the beach waiter. Our family loved his friendly smile and was always around asking us if we needed anything. I would say the food is hit or miss but usually something you can find. A la cartes definitely are better than the buffet. Overall we all really loved this resort and had a wonderful time.

    Not a 5 star and not a Royalton

    Where do I start? This was my 11th trip to Punta Cana and my 4th time staying at a Royalton. It will also be my last. My husband, son and I brought another family to Punta Cana for their first time. Our flight was 7 hours late so we arrived at the hotel at 9:30pm. We will told we would only be able to dine at the Buffet which we were told closed at 10:30. We went over and all of the food had been sitting for hours. It was either soggy, dried out or hard as a rock. At 9:50 I was hoping to go back in and at least fill a plate up with fruit so the kids had something in their stomachs as everything else was inedible. Unfortunately the doors were shut on us. From there, we walked to our room - 14303. The floors were covered in sand, the toilet had poop in it, there was a dirty glass on the table, the furniture was so worn out and dilapidated and the pull out bed where I was to put my 6 year old son to sleep, had stains all over it. I tried to call the front desk, our phone did not work. We then walked all the way back to the lobby, at 10:30pm with our exhausted 6 year old son. In the lobby I was passed between the check in desk and guest services 3 times. I asked for a manager to which I was ignored. This process took an hour and in the end, we were moved to a temporary room for the night and they were going to clean 14303 as we had prebooked that room and paid for it. I was told they would clean it and message me on Whatsapp around 3pm the next day. They also told me to come to the lobby the next morning to discuss compensation for my troubles. I arrived in the morning and was told they would message me later that day on Whatsapp with dinner reservations for the week to compensate me for my troubles. No message came. At 5:40pm a call come to the room from Guest Services telling me we had a dinner reservation at 6:00pm. I said unfortunately that is in 20 minutes could we have 6:30 to which they agreed. When we got to the restaurant, they did not have our reservation. I asked to speak with a manager as this reservation was to make up for all of the issues we had with our room. They asked me to stand to the side and proceeded to ignore us for 25 mins. Finally the husband of my friend spoke to someone and we were given a table. Not a single day were we able to get dinner reservations on the app. Twice we went to the guest services and they claimed to make reservations for us but each time when we showed up for dinner, the reservations did not exist. I also never heard back from Guest Services about the compensation for the room issues. I could go on forever about all of the issues with this resort. But let me sum it up for you: 1. It is not a 5 star. 2. You will wait every single morning for a table at the breakfast buffet. There will not be any clean tables, you will have to clean one for yourself. Bring a bottle of water and coffee from the coffee shop to the buffet as no one will acknowledge you or serve you. 3. I have never in the 10 other visits to Punta Cana experienced such rude, unfriendly or unhelpful staff. 4. The resort is extremely understaffed, especially the restaurants. Not once in the buffet were we served water or coffee at breakfast. 5. The ocean is great but be prepared to be on the beach before 8am for a spot. 6. The lazy river was fantastic and the highlight of the trip 7. The a la cartes were 3 star at best. Oceanside a ala carte was inedible. All 7 of us left our entire meals. Steakhouse was good but we all ended up sick that night. Italian was not great. Brazilian was tasty as was Zen. 8. The outdoor lunch spot beside the lazy river was the best food we had all week and the only place where you can get real service. 9. You will be hounded by the timeshare people You will have a great time because the ocean and the lazy river. But be prepared to be frustrated with the staff and to not enjoy the food. The quality is more Riu, less Royalton.

    Wonderful Family Trip

    We just returned from Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana and had a wonderful time ! There were 11 of us (three generations). Our butler was Adonis and he took care of everything for us including restaurant reservations, two special birthday celebrations and anything else we needed - always with grace, politeness and a smile! He made our trip extra-special and we give many thanks to him! The resort staff were great, resort very clean with gorgeous beach and pools. Perfect choice for our family trip !

    If you're here looking for reviews on a nice all-inclusive resort - this is not it. I truly cannot understand the 4.2 star google rating at the time of this post. The only time staff is nice to you is after check-in where they have someone flag you down to lure you to their membership presentation. Pro tip: say no outright or you'll end up wasting 1.5+ hours with them even though its only meant to be 45mins. They keep telling you its no pressure, just to show you - but they have multiple rounds of men coming to try to talk to into it every time you say no. If the guy still is able to guilt trip you enough (so he can get points), make sure the benefit you get for sitting through it is at least a cabana for a day and NOT a lousy gift box. It looks like a nice resort from the pictures but in actuality, its a wreck. Bedsheets, curtains, towels, serving napkins, bath tub, cutlery, glassware - all dirty, soiled, or stained. The buildings themselves are rundown, old, and just not cleaned. Its quite hilarious that they want you to pay a membership of THOUSANDS of dollars based on what they're offering here. Don't even bother with room service. It will take over 2 hours and the food is terrible. Requests for items to be brought to your room (towels, hairdryer, etc.) takes at least 2 hours if it even comes at all. Rooms will go uncleaned if not specifically asked for (no, leaving the "please clean" sign outside the door does not work). Towels at the beach/ by the pools will run out and not get replaced. If you ask for more, you will just be told there's none. As you can tell service is horrible. The staff is extremely rude, its like you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job. At the sports bar/restaurant, you'll likely need to seat yourself, get your own menus and cutlery, then wait 30 minutes before anyone will take your order. Another 45mins for food to actually come out and 75% of the time its wrong or disappointing. The buffets are a joke, restaurant reservations "go missing", no one knows anything about serving or how to take responsibility. None of the food is particularly good or special - in general the food is edible, standard at best. The only way I can imagine anyone enjoying their stay here is if they were wasted the entire time. Overall a huge disappointment. Do not waste your time or money here.

    Very Nice hotel in beautiful grounds.

    We stayed at the Royalton Bavaro for 11 nights in December 2024. Overall we enjoyed are stay. Positives. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The pools are great never had any problems getting a sunbed the beach is also lovely. We found the food very good loads of choice, We tried all the diffrent restaurants, However hunter's steakhouse was by far the best food and the service was excellent, the.coffee shop was also very nice and lovely friendly staff coffee was very nice also had fresh sandwiches and cakes everyday. We found all the staff friendly and nothing was a problem. The room we stayed in was very nice plenty of room and storage space. We especially enjoyed the whirlpool bath in the room. However there were a few negatives. The service at breakfast was very poor we were only offered coffee twice on an 11 night stay, quite often we couldn't even get the basics like butter or spoons. The entertainment in our opinion was not very good and is repetitive every week. This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. The prices in the shops that are in the grounds are extortionate the spa is way over priced. We also had to call down to reception quite often to get the minibar re stocked. We would also like to mention a couple of staff who we feel went above and beyond to make our holiday special. Anita, Fresco and yeuilami. Overall a very nice hotel with just a few tweaks could be excellent.
