A Near-Death Experience due to negligence and Total Lack of Accountability
We had a terrifying and unacceptable experience at the Royalton Bavaro on April 1st, 2025. A large metallic structure collapsed just inches away from my 3-year-old son and me. We narrowly avoided tragedy thanks only to a split-second reaction. My husband was struck by falling cables, suffering injuries to his legs. This was a traumatic, dangerous event caused by clear negligence, and it was made worse by the shocking way the hotel handled it afterward. Despite multiple requests, the General Manager never came to speak with us. The manager who did respond — Octavio — was not only rude, but offered no apology, showed no compassion, and made no meaningful offer of compensation or accountability. It felt like they wanted the whole incident to be ignored and forgotten. We were left shaken, angry, and deeply disappointed that a resort of this caliber would respond so carelessly to a life-threatening safety failure. I strongly caution families — especially those with small children — to think twice before booking here. Safety and guest well-being do not seem to be a priority at Royalton Bavaro.

Near Miss Incident at Royalton Bavaro
On April 1, 2025, a lighting structure/scaffolding set up for a show at Royalton Bavaro collapsed — missing my wife and 5-year-old daughter by just 1–2 feet. Cables from the structure struck me in the back of the leg, causing significant pain. This could have been a fatal tragedy. What followed was just as disturbing: resort staff ignored us until we approached them, offered no medical help, and didn’t even ask if we were okay. Not a single person from the resort checked on our family. When we finally met with the general manager, Octavio, the next day, his attitude was cold, dismissive, and even hostile — no apology, no compassion, no accountability. Another family with two young kids was also nearly hit and received the same shocking treatment. No written apology. No formal acknowledgment. This resort has serious safety issues and absolutely no regard for guest well-being. If something goes wrong, they will not take responsibility. If you care about your safety, avoid Royalton Bavaro.

Great stay and service
We had a great stay. The resort has plenty of activities, shows, and food options. Hunter and Rio were our favorite restaurants. The wait staff kept our glasses full so we were never thirsty. We did have vendors and staff try to sell us merchandise and excursions every day. Our butler, Ramon, really took our stay to the next level. He showed us around the resort, made dinner reservations, and answered all our questions.

Our Happy Place
Love this resort. Will be back for our fourth time in October. I can’t say enough about the staff and Diamond Club. My Butler’s each time Michael, Max, and Adonis are amazing. The staff at Seaside in the morning for breakfast always make me smile Telofio, Stephanie and others went above and beyond. We also have to give a shout out to Johnny in the grotto making amazing drinks and keeping up with all us crazy tourists. The only thing disappointing was karaoke, I love to sing and one night we sat waiting for an hour before they told us it was cancelled. Then the night you did have it they stopped it early causing a lot of people to get upset and I felt bad for the staff. I wish you did karaoke a few times in the week. This gives us a chance to do it if we come midweek.
