    Terrible experience

I was hoping to celebrate a romantic wedding anniversary in a luxury suiteat a 5 star hotel but I regretted everything-The ambiance, outdated furniture, shower ,no activities, distasteful food, pastries and lack of variety. Karon and his supervisor at the stake house tried but they were limited due to management. Staff are great and excellent service. Management need to improve attraction!!!The beach was also dirty with no activities. I have been to cheaper hotels which supercedes my expectations. This year was terrible.

    STOP! NO! DON’T GO! Off brand/False Advertisement/Bait and Switch/

(1)it’s not in Montego Bay. The beach is near a river and makes the beach water semi-brackish; not as clear as other areas (2) bed assignments are not guaranteed {1king/2queens}. For this price tag, if you have 3-4 people in a room, nobody should be on a pull out sofa or rollaway (3) ROACHES crawling on the buffet (4) so MANY ROACHES in the bathroom (5) broken glass in the sand at the beach (6) disgusting buffet food- old, dried up, stale, not fresh (7) disgusting restaurants- get familiar with local restaurants if you want to eat fresh food or fruit; we went to bed hungry one night after trying to get edible food from the steak restaurant. We ordered from the menu but they gave us whatever they had left to give us which was cold and disgusting (8) funky smells in hallways and elevators; I think it’s the plumbing; lots of plumbing water stains on ceilings (9) don’t use the stairs as you may get trapped like me because there are no doorknobs on the doors (10) Most employees are clearly unhappy and do not care about your experience; most barely say hello to you (11) a number of employees clearly stated that they know this resort is TRASH and management couldn’t care less about your feelings (12) the entire property is in disrepair including the rooms- especially the rooms; complete with blood stains on top of bedspread at check-in (13) Management/Property is partnered with Marriott but Marriott has no say about customer service decisions NO WONDER JAMAICAN WORKERS WERE ON STRIKE A FEW WEEKS AGO! From what I understand they are paid very poorly with mandatory overtime. While we pay top dollar, this is a prime example of colonizing corporate culture trickle down effect. Hated It!

Set expectations low and be prepared to overlook the rouch edges

We've travelled to all-inclusive resorts about twice a year for about 12 years. Mostly to Dreams and Secrets resorts. But we've seen a pretty good variety of resorts in between. I say that to say, this Royalton Blue Waters is average at best. The facility is aging and worn and broken. Nothing major but 1000 little things add up. Cracked tiles at the elevator, broken ice machines, ratty lounge chairs at the pool and beach, flaking paint on the balconies...its noticable. If that were the only issue, it wouldn't be a big deal. But the service isn't great either. I don't know if its just Jamaica or this resort...but the service wasn't great. With a few notable exceptions, service was slow and unfriendly. Branden at the lobby bar and Ann Marie at the Italian restaurant saved the trip. Both were excellent at their jobs. Check-in was good. Most everyone else we encountered seemed annoyed to be doing their job. Drink service at the pool was practially non-existent. That brings me to the food. Food was below average. Breakfast omelette station was good. Italian sit down was good. Most other things we ate were not very good. Not terrible...but not good. Housekeeping was good. Entertainment was good. Beach is just ok, swimable. Pools are prety good. Activities are pretty scarce. Over-all, for the moeny we spent, we would not stay here again and would not recommend this resort to others. There are just way better options out there.

“Disappointing Experience with Poor Service and Unequal Treatment”

If I could give this hotel a rating of -1, I would. I stayed at this resort with my family and had an extremely disappointing experience. My husband and I decided to upgrade to a room with Butler service, expecting a higher level of care. However, when we arrived, the young lady at check-in rushed through the explanation of the benefits included with our room and the Butler service. We were supposed to have two Butlers—one for the day shift and one for the night shift—but we only met one, and that wasn’t until our second day, after I repeatedly asked the front desk about it. When I finally met the Butler, he informed me that the second Butler was on vacation. Unfortunately, the Butler we did have was completely unhelpful and provided no meaningful service. We paid extra for this upgrade, but it was a total waste of money. We also had Diamond Club benefits, which are supposed to grant access to exclusive areas. One morning, I woke up early and went to the beach to secure a good spot under a cabana by placing towels down. However, a beach guard told me I wasn’t allowed in that area. This was shocking because I had Diamond Club privileges, and everyone in my family was over 21. I work very hard, and when I pay for premium services, I expect them to be available without issue. To make matters worse, I couldn’t help but feel that my treatment was influenced by the color of my skin. I noticed others with Diamond Club benefits who didn’t look like me being treated differently and given access without question. As if that wasn’t bad enough, on the morning we were checking out, the roof in my kids’ room started leaking. This experience was a complete disaster, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
