Very Good Hotel w/Great Service
My first time at an all inclusive hotel. Was part of a large group celebrating a birthday. The resort sits on a beautiful beach, with a large pool area, and many daily and nightly activities. The hotel has a premium/concierge program called the Diamond Club, which I found worth the additional cost because of the special lounge, private beach and pool, and most importantly, the tremendous service received from our “butlers” (personal concierges) Arturo and Ricardo. They were what made the trip exceptional. Every question, every request was met with sincerity, an eagerness to help, and an efficient outcome. Whether it was a bag of ice for an unexpected medical issue or a last minute spa request, Arturo and Ricardo came through. The dining options are plentiful - the buffet breakfast, the custom pizza window, and the Cloud 9 tasting menu/restaurant were my highlights. Others in my group enjoyed the sports bar, coffee bar, and pool lunch buffet. Dance club at night and outdoor rooftop pool with DJ. Steam room and sauna also high quality. Junior suite was spacious with the bathroom particularly well-appointed and amenity-full. Bed was comfortable. Negatives? Several of the guest room floors, including mine, had a strong musty smell. Took a day or two for that smell to get out of the room with the AC running at full blast too. Not a huge surprise - given that you have a body of water on each side of the hotel in a humid climate - but a concern if you have a mold allergy. Some floors clearly did not have this odor, and it was not present in the common areas; so it is a bit confusing why they couldn’t eliminate it on all floors. However, if you’re spending a lot of time in your room, you’re missing the point,

Horrible Experience – Do Not Waste Your Money
My stay at Royalton Chic Cancún was by far the worst resort experience I’ve ever had. I booked the Diamond Club expecting a higher level of service, but from the moment we arrived, it was clear that was not the case. We arrived at 11 AM and politely asked our assigned butler for assistance, only to be met with complete rudeness. Instead of offering any help or even showing basic courtesy, he just kept repeating that check-in wasn’t until 3 PM and dismissed us entirely. Once we finally got into our room, the bathroom was disgusting—there was leftover hair in the toilet from the previous guest, which made it clear that housekeeping didn’t clean properly. Throughout the stay, the elevators were a complete nightmare—taking 10 minutes to get to our floor and another 10 to go back down. They were also unbearably hot, making the wait even worse. Starting on the second day, our room became extremely damp, as if the humidity control was broken. All of our belongings became wet, and our passports were ruined. To make things worse, the water shut off that night for over two hours, leaving us unable to shower before heading out. On the second night, our air conditioning also shut off, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. It didn’t turn back on until the morning. The food was absolutely terrible, the worst I’ve ever had at a resort. Even with Diamond Club access, I waited at the bar for 20 minutes trying to get a drink before finally giving up and walking away. The staff, across the board, were rude and unwelcoming. It felt like they had no interest in providing any level of hospitality. The worst part? Trying to reach anyone for help is a joke. Calling the resort is useless—you either get no answer or the front desk refuses to transfer you to a manager, instead arguing with you. Completely unprofessional. Overall, I regret spending my money here. This resort is poorly managed, the service is awful, and the experience was nothing short of frustrating. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else.
