    Excellent Trip

We had a fantastic time! 10 day trip and we were able to book a la carte restaurants 7 times. Main pool and bar (See Elvis for a Blue Hawaiian) was great. No issues at all. I would definitely come back! The buffet food was very good with lots of choices, we had a room on 4th floor overlooking the main pool. Entertainment was top notch and the foam party was so fun!

The best server you can get at the Royalton riveria resort❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Alberto offered us the best service we have had at this resort. Other than Alberto and Paul, our service had been average. These two have exceeded our expectations and have enhanced our experience as a family who has never been on vacation!!!

    Horrible resort!!

Fortunately for this resort I am unable to provide a ZERO star review, although this is what it deserves. My stay at the resort was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival my friends and I walked into a room that smelled of mold mildew and sewage. Our toilet was unable to flush, the sink was not draining properly, the resort only provided us with one robe although it was 4 of us in the room and no slides, although listed as included with the room. The icing on the cake was when we found old blood on our sheets. We went to guest services where we were greeted with employees with nasty attitudes. Miguel the manager offered to upgrade our room and give $160.00 in resort credit but no rooms were available until the next day so he offered to re-clean the room that we were already in although this should have been done prior to check-in. The resort did not want to refund our money and did everything to keep it while offering us things that didn’t compensate for the biohazard we had encountered earlier, so we felt trapped. Moving forward to the next day we received an unexpected knock on our door from a bag boy named Aron and he told us that we needed to be out the room by 11am . We were confused as we were not checking out and only being upgraded, we also still were paying for a room. The deal was for us to leave out of our current room when the upgraded room became available. Nevertheless, Aron proceeded to argue with us and scream saying we needed to be out the room by 11am. So we proceeded to text Miguel (the manager) as he had already gave us his contact information the day prior. By the time Miguel arrived he gave us the upgraded room and everything with the room looked ok, however later on we realized the AC unit in that room was broken. Miguel had also back tracked on the $160.00 resort credit and stated it was either the upgrade or the $160.00 resort credit. Which was a complete lie but we were so over it that we left the situation alone. Aside from this, Miguel offered to set us reservations for dinner that night and we arrived to this reservation only to find out that it hadn’t been made. So yet another lie from Miguel. This resort is a complete nightmare. From cleanliness, to staff to everything. We were told by multiple employees on the resort that they are shutting down in August to remodel the resort. This took us by surprise because we paid full price for a resort that’s clearly ran down and in desperate need of new employees, plumbing and upgrades. The resort is also marketed as an adults only which is just a lie because there is one section of the hotel, pool and one restaurant for adults. The resort is merged with the kids side and you will be seeing them quite often, which is not what we paid for. I was celebrating my 30th birthday and it was my first time visiting mexico and the impression that I was left with because of this resort is hard to come back from. I likely will never be visiting any royalton resorts and possibly not even Mexico ever again!

    Great girls trip!!

Just came back from a week long girls trip at the Royalton and had a great experience! There was a mix up with our rooms, so they ended up upgrading us to an Ocean View for a few nights, free of charge. The room was beautiful and had a tub on the balcony! Pros: The restaurants were AMAZING. We had no trouble getting reservations through the app, though the times were always later in the evening. Fine by us! Indian, Italian, Steakhouse and Teppanyaki were all delicious. Indian was my personal fav. Buffet was exactly what you would expect, nothing to write home about but also no queasy stomachs (IYKYK). My group decided to stay by the beach for the majority of our trip. Our beach server, Dalia, was great! She could seriously qualify for the Olympics with how massive the trays of drinks she was carrying were. Go Dalia!! Rooms were spacious and clean. The balcony doors were surprisingly very soundproof, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall the resort was very clean and well maintained. Cons (if you could even really call them that!): We tried to save loungers by the pool one day and came down an hour or so later to our stuff being gone. Apparently you can't save lounge chairs and a worked had taken our stuff to the lost & found. Some days this was enforced, but most days it was not. We always managed to find a spot on the beach, but by noon everything was usually taken. They would benefit from having some additional loungers. Also, not a ton of shade. One day the ocean was evacuated after someone spotted a salt water crocodile shortly after I had been in the water floating on my back like a little snack. Honestly maybe i should put this under 'Pros': Survived a Croc. Spring Breakers. OMG. They really were everywhere. They seemed to congregate around the main pool. Thankfully we stuck by the beach for the majority of the trip so we didn't interact with them much. I think some of them may have been feral. Drinks at the bars/swim up bars would sometimes take a while to get, which can be annoying. Overall, we had a great time and it was exactly what we needed. Your trip really is what you make of it!! Don't let the the reviews about one sad little racoon and no welcome drink scare you away from a great time!!

    Incredible!!!

Other than being there on a week for March breakers, it was absolutely amazing. Good food at every restaurant. Love the layout of the resort. And Alberto was the BEST butler ever. We will definitely be going back this fall. The beach was beautiful and there are so many options for eating and snacking.
