Royalton Splash Fun resort but
Booked diamond club and stayed a week. We had good times at the water park, lazy rivers, and the nightly entertainment was great for our daughter. The food is really poor quality. It is like school cafeteria food, and we did not finish many meals. I love frozen pizza and could not finish the pizza there. We joked that we lost weight on our trip because the food was so bad. We would have done anything for food even close to something like Applebees. We had food at a chain restaurant (Guy Fieri’s) at the airport, and we were amazed how good the food after a week of food at Royalton splash. Premium drinks are only available at a small bar (six bar seats) in the diamond club (usually only one bartender) and at the diamond club beach bar or pool which close at 5pm. Be prepared to wait for premium drinks and they ran out of woodford and makers mark everyday along with premium vodka. The service throughout much of the resort is quite bad. Waited one day for 30 minutes to get a food stand burger and at least 30 minutes every time in the small coffee shop. On Sunday from 11:30am to 2:30pm the diamond club pools ran out of ice. Stuff happens but that was really odd. Overall staff were very overwhelmed and short staffed. Our butler Alfredo was asked twice to help celebrate our daughter’s birthday and nothing was done. Our room was not stocked most days so we did reach out to butlers for water bottles, candy etc. once we asked to be stocked they usually did not have candy or chips. Jhonny our other butler was responsive when we were given no towels. If you decide to book this resort, bring inflatable pool floats as they are $50 in the gift shop. Also, a candy bar was $12. Crazy prices so bring your own snacks. Overall we will not stay at the resort again due to the bad food. It is a shame because the water park, pools, lazy rivers, and nightly entertainment are great.

Mediocre at best
This is the 5th all-inclusive resort I have visited in Mexico, and by far my least favorite. The check-in process took over an hour and our room was not ready when we arrived at 5:00pm. Very crowded everywhere and So. Many. Kids. To get a chair at the pool, you have to claim a chair by 7:00 am. Frustrating that there’s no adults only pool on property. The swim up bars were overrun with kids. The food was just the worst resort food I have ever had. The buffet is terrible! Breakfast, lunch, dinner … all of it. My husband and I didn’t have a single meal on the property that we enjoyed. Unfortunately, there is nothing about the resort that stands out positively and we definitely will not be returning.

Worth it: Fun, family-friendly, all-inclusive
Royalton Splash Cancun is a great, family-friendly all-inclusive, resort. We've been to several all-inclusive resorts and this one is the best so far. The entire property is well-kept and clean. It is up to date and modern. The staff is incredible - an "at your service" mentality and always so friendly. We opted for the Diamond Club which is worth every penny for exclusive pool access, Diamond Club access with 24/7 food and drinks, and restaurants. We also had butler service which also worth it and nice to have when we had questions or needed something. As far as food, there is something for everyone. Plenty of options including hibachi, Italian, Indian, BBQ, Mexican, an " "American" steakhouse and a Brazilian steakhouse. The main buffet is massive! It has a a salad bar/hot bar, made to order stations like sushi, burgers, Mexican, Asian, dessert, etc. We're not buffet people, but it was good and the kids loved it. There are drinks galore but the two best drinks are at Shaken and the Dimond Club bar. Kids (and grown ups) will love the Lazy River and water slides.

Had a lot of potential but needs more staff. Too much waiting/standing in line for everything.
- fitness centre is awesome - staff are super helpful and the yoga classes were really good! Tailored to all attendees. - Restaurants aren’t the best. The buffet is good but very busy. The staff have a hard time keeping up with demand. - Overall, resort is too busy. Not enough amenities to accommodate all the people. (Ie: not enough bars, restaurants, chairs at the pool). Also not enough staff.

Great workout at Bootcamp
The Bootcamp class was great, didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised! Could be half an hour earlier to get your day started earlier but not a huge deal. Tony was a great instructor! You won't regret going, great way to start your day.
