First time at a secrets, been to a lot of Caribbean 5 stars before, and VERY happy at this resort. Staff is always smiling and wiling to help! We are 9 days in on a 16 day stay in an ocean view swim out romance suite. Metz has been super making sure we are informed and looked after. The beach in the bay is beautiful, seaweed is minimal and cleaned up quickly, a bit rocky in the water in some areas, but enjoyable. Preferred beach chairs are very comfy, but we have to go out 630am to get a good spot. The locals on the beach are very tame and don't get in your face, you know they are around, but they don't harass you!! Food, 90% of the meals we had were very fresh, well prepared and plated, 9/10 overall for resort food, we stayed at the restaurants and stayed away from the buffets, the holiday menus were the only ones we found to be not the greatest. (Seemed prepared too much in advance). We had breakfast and lunch at seaside almost every day, Alberto took care of us with everything we asked for even if it wasn't exactly on the menu! Jamie there always made sure we felt special and taken care of! Entertainment, so far has been hit or miss, the Daliyra show was very good, but the other shows need work. The silent disco was a hit even in the rain, we watched and it was a show on its own! A couple of live musicians, there was a singer that I thought was a guest it was so bad, she was mumbling through the songs, I guess that was her style but it ruined every song she sang. Overall we are super happy that we have stayed here for over two weeks, and very rare for me to tell my wife that I wouldn't mind staying longer! Great job guys, and more thank you's to the staff. Alberto, and Miguel in conceirge club, Jorge the restaurant manager, Cesar for looking after any issues with the room, and the rest of the staff for all the smiles.

One name to describe paradise , “Secrets Akumal “
Personnel attention was extraordinary. Loved the food, vegetation and pools. Rooms are so big, with beautiful furniture and perfectly equipped and clean as a new pin. Looking for light dinner or healthy food, looking for vegan or high protein one, you will find it for sure!

Sorry to say just average. The dining was the most bland,under or overcooked from fish to steak.I had a chilled seafood appetizer straight out of the freezer. King crab popsicle and half thawed under cooked shrimp. Just average rooms,dated. The $200 a day to rent a cabana at the beach …. We will not be back to this property. Altilier spoiled us and we are headed back

Quiet, beautiful resort
We loved this resort! It didn't feel too crowded - we didn't feel like we had to wake up extra early to save pool chairs/etc. The service by the pool was excellent! All of the staff were extremely helpful and we had a wonderful time here. We would definitely go back to this resort!

Take an hour and try archery with Max; you won't regret it!!!
My daughter and I went to an archery class during the day. Max was an amazing leader and teacher. There must have been 20 people there and Max both entertained us and taught us how to improve our archery skills (most of us were beginners). Max was engaging and a perfect person to lead this class. If you make it to Secrets in Akumal, make sure to ask for Max in the entertainment group, and give archery a try!!
