  Do plenty of research before selecting this resort.

  I don't usually write reviews because I believe they are subjective to individual expectations. However, in this case, I feel compelled to share my experience to prevent others from making the same mistake. We will not be returning to this resort. Our recent stay at Secrets Cozumel Aura was quite disappointing. The hotel felt very tired and lacked proper maintenance. After events on the property, the staff did not clean up each day, leaving stairwells and entryways to buildings in a messy state. We had booked a Preferred Club Jr Suite Swim room and paid extra for a rooftop plunge pool, which turned out to be the saving grace of our quick romantic getaway. The quality of the liquor was subpar, with no top-shelf options like Patron, Jameson, Woodford Reserve, or Titos available. As a result, we ended up drinking cans of Dos Equis most of the time. On a positive note, we did enjoy the bottle of wine we purchased. However, the dining experience was underwhelming. We ate at all the restaurants except Gohan and only found the grilled Mahi Mahi to be enjoyable. The rest of the food was terrible and served in small portions. Despite these issues, the service was great, which was a small consolation.

  Scuba holiday resort selection.

  Average resort overall, food not good at all, in fact pretty inedible. But the beach and pools were solid. And lots of fun entertainment energy, lead by entertainment host Arbey! The fire show was professionally done, loved the pool side games.

  Secrets Aura Cozumel – A Mixed Experience

  We recently stayed at Secrets Aura Cozumel with friends, and while we had a good time overall, our experience was definitely a mixed bag. First, the positives—the views were absolutely stunning. Waking up to the ocean every morning was a dream, and the sunsets were breathtaking. The staff was also incredibly friendly and always willing to help, which made our stay more enjoyable. However, there were several areas where the resort fell short. The property itself felt run-down, with noticeable maintenance issues that took away from the luxury experience we expected. Housekeeping was inconsistent—some days our room was well cleaned, while other days it was skipped entirely or lacked fresh towels and toiletries. The food and drinks were hit or miss. Some meals were enjoyable, but overall, the quality and consistency left a lot to be desired. Drinks were often watered down or inconsistent depending on where you ordered them. Given that this is an all-inclusive resort, we expected a bit more in this department. On the activity side, there were some fun options, but the resort didn’t always feel lively or well-organized when it came to entertainment. Overall, while we had a fun trip with friends, Secrets Aura didn't quite live up to expectations. With some much-needed maintenance, better food quality, and more attention to housekeeping, it could be a fantastic resort. Until then, we’d say it’s just okay—not bad, but not great either.

  Cozumel is great. Maybe not this place

  Pros: Beach is incredible! Amazing snorkeling right off the beach, gorgeous white sand. Pool is nice too. Bed on the patio was super nice. Arby with the entertainment crew was amazing! Cons: Food is not good, the buffet, and specialty restaurants, wouldn't go back to any of them. Entire resort feels smooshed together/not well thought out, buildings are old, and many things are not clean/don't work (air conditioning/water). Many of the bathrooms smelled horrible. I tried to order things via concierge (water, towels), I only got those once. The resort probably goes through THOUSANDS of water bottles a day :(. They try to upsell you on a LOT of stuff (food, experiences etc). Would 10000% go back to cozumel. Would not go back to this resort

  Read lots of reviews before we went and lots of people complained about the smell in there room, its and island and it is humid, there is going to be some smell. Wasnt awful, and yes the pillows were great and so was our view..was disappointed as we had a room right above one of the resturants and the fan was noisy and we never got no sunshine, I love my sunshine, but these are things u deal with. The pools were great the ocean was spectacular..overall it was a great vacation...the staff was all amazing, thank you all very much for a great vaca...
